The wizard's attack was unexpected. Peter's knights were very capable so he left them with his general to fight off the wizard while he looked for Noel.
He flew to the meadow only to find the knights taking care of Noel to be lying lifeless. He started tracing his way through the trail he had taken Noel to once. As he walked he looked everywhere but there was no sign of Noel.
Peter walked some more thinking Noel either escaped or fell off the trail. He stopped walking when he saw a crouched figure. He looked properly and widened his eyes in surprise.
