Chapter Six A love that she never had. Emmi Parker’s Point of View He’s my mate. My hand lingered on the small scar on the side of his left eye. The man closed his eye as if letting me feel through the line. It goes one finger above his eyebrow and two fingers below his eye. It was the only taint in his clean face as if it was deliberately done so. “I can still see,” his deep voice grumbled; the hold on my waist seemed to tighten. I let my fingers linger on the scar, wondering. “How did this happen?” “Saved my old man to an attack he almost missed,” slowly opening it, he asked. “Is it unsightly to look at?” It didn’t. To how he could ask something like that seemed crazy. He was beautiful, and the scar that he carried seemed like a badge of honor as it was a disgrace. I am sure he sees it proof that his father is still alive. Instead of answering, my hands pulled him closer, accepting the warmth that came from him. My body sizzled with sparks upon feeling his skin. The absence of his shirt is regular for his position—or male werewolves even, but it was taking a big toll on me not to look directly at his body. “No,” I muttered, nuzzling close to him. “You look handsome, a complete eye candy.” “I could say the same to you.” Finally, he was here before me. I know that I needed to be someone who is refined for someone in his status, but I felt complete. I was now safe in his hold. I found him. My grip around his neck was tight as I made sure that I would never fall into my butt. He kept me steady, hands lingering on my waist and not an inch away from it. My mate had all access to where he wanted to touch, and he knew that I was nude under his clothes. Despite that, he never tried to do anything disgusting. “And this is not a dream?” I questioned, quivering to the truth before me. My body shuddered along with his low laugh. “No. You’re safe now.” “I found you.” My voice whispered softly, hands shaking at the thought that I almost lost the right to be with him. Instead of pressing questions, he easily soothes my back. “I am sorry for taking so long.” Aside from his voice, the coldness around the area was now corrupting me as I let out a small noise of discomfort. Quickly realizing that I was only wearing one article of clothing, he quickly spreads out his warmth around my body. It was one of the perks of finding your mate, and I was glad to have received a heat coming from him. “We should get you out of here.” He muttered, smiling at me. “My sisters could help you dress since you have nothing with you. How does that sound?” I frowned. “And they would not mind?” “I’m sure the twins will be fighting about whose clothes you’ll be wearing.” His words were followed by a laugh, making me automatically smile to see such a beautiful thing from him. Before me, the man was not scary, and while he does look like he could take down an empire, he does not resemble any person who does terrible things on regularity, and that is good for me. “Come on.” He smiled, carefully dragging me up the steps and out to the small cell that I was kept in. The walk seemed easy to tackle, but my feet were quick to wobble. “Are you okay?” I hesitated, hands pushing the clothes down. “I’m sorry. I have not been in control for long.” He quickly picked me from my feet, and he seemed concerned with the weight he was carrying. I could see it from his face. Before he could say anything else, I quickly dismissed it. “It’s because I am small, okay! You’re just too big.” “And how small are we talking about?” He mused, pressing a kiss to my temple. “Small enough to kick you directly to where the sun doesn’t shine,” I grumbled. My eyes focused on the house that we were walking to. It was the largest in the pack, signifying that it was the home of the Alpha. It seems like the pack is really thriving for them to have all of this stuff, and I remembered that the outside was not sparse with items and necessities. What pack am I on? I stilled as soon as I saw five people in the dining room. All their eyes whipped into mine, most notably the man who was holding a folder into his arms. He looked like someone who resembled my mate. Are these his family? “I found my mate.” He announced, making me shyly wave at them as I tried to hide the fact that I was wearing nothing but his shirt. Three girls jumped from their seats as they all ran towards me; they all had similar faces, and they looked at me with nothing but awe. I did not know what to do, so I only smiled at them. “Girls, would you let her wear some of your clothes?” “Yes!” The three shouted, making me smile as the one kid who clearly is not allowed to shift had reacted in the same voice. He frowned, patting the child on the head. “I am sorry, Khloe. Your clothes still do not fit her.” “Oh.” She reacted, a sad smile responding on her face. I smoothly reacted, knowing that this was normal in my field. “But you can come with us if you want to.” That advice from me quickly made her smile, looking at me as if she were asking if I was serious. I nodded, beaming at her softly as I fought the urge to lean into her height and accidentally flash anyone from behind me. “I’ll leave her to the three of you.” The three seem ecstatic to hear that, dragging my hands along them. “You can trust us!” I was pulled into a bright pink room with two beds in the middle and separated by a bedside table by those words. Their whole place was much larger than my living room, so I guess that they were a successful pack to have all of these. I could not even hide the surprise as they all pulled into a door, giving me an entry door into another big room, which holds all their clothes. Did I step into another world or something? “What do you want to want to wear?” One of them asked as she smiled. “I am Karissa, and this is my twin, Kamilla. And you know Khloe.” Karissa and Kamilla did look like a complete mirror. Karissa had long curly hair, as Kamilla had her hair straight. Both have bright brown hair, while Khloe has a rich black one. It complimented her brother’s hair perfectly. The family did seem balanced in this way. “My name is Emmi, and I will wear what you girls wanted me to wear.” Their eyes sparkled, nodding their heads as they picked through their dresser. Karissa and Kamilla seemed to be young, to be 18… am I really that small that I could fit into their dress? “Can I pick you an outfit too?” Khloe questioned, making me smile as I kneeled to her, shaking my head. “How about you judge if their picks are good for me?” “Okay!” Due to his sister’s adorable reactions, we have been huddled in that room for what seems like hours before a knock vibrated into the door. Our laughter ceased as it continued, having Khloefrown as she hugged me. “That must be our brother.” She pouted, holding me. “He’s here to steal you from us, Emmi! Do not go with him!” The girls were really excited to have another person in their group, so I was glad that I belonged with them. For the second that the door was opened on their walk-in closet, we were caught by my mate. He chuckled, shaking his head as soon as he saw me seated on the floor with his three sisters hugging me as if he was someone who would kidnap me. “You would be keeping her company as I work, but she needed to eat.” He called, beckoning his sisters to the door. “And you all have not started your meals. Dad is calling us.” All of their faces seemed to be sad but nodded nevertheless. “Fine.” I quickly walked to where he was, greeted by a beautiful smile from the man. He really is someone who is easy on the eyes, especially to me. My mind could still not believe that I had this man as my mate. “You look thin, angel.” He frowned, holding me close. It looked like he wanted to check himself, but his hands were careful not to touch anything. “I am sure you’re famished with all the running you’ve done.” “You can say that.” I gulped with the thought of food. My wolf would usually not eat much, as it would lessen our pace. Remembering the situation of how I got here, I knew that I needed to tell everything to him.. but... “It’s fine. You can take that frown away,” He smiled, patting my head softly. “You can always take your time to explain what happened to you. I will do everything I can to understand everything, but you’re safe here.” Looking into his eyes, I smiled. That’s right. I am safe with him.
