Tom was shocked to see Cindy, and he had a lot of questions to ask Peter as Peter finally approached him.
"Peter, did you truly bring that pretty yellow lady here? Wow! It seems you have already fallen in love with her," Tom teased as Peter approached him, but Peter wasn't smiling at Tom.
Tom didn't know if Cindy had already told Peter all the trash talk he had spoken about Peter behind his back, and Peter wasn't happy nor in a good mood to explain anything to Tom.
Peter was sad and disappointed. He knew even his parents in the village expected the best of him, but here he was suffering in the city, refusing to go back home to face his parents.
Peter's phone had broken, and he knew if he fixed it or got a new one, his family wouldn't allow him to rest. He went back to sit where he normally slept every night, noticing the other homeless people staring at him, but he wasn't happy.
They expected to see him smiling and beaming about having found a pretty rich lady, but he felt useless and like a servant to her, even though he knew Cindy genuinely liked him—unlike the other women he had encountered, who were only lusting after him.
Peter cursed inwardly as he sat on the floor mat, frustrated. Tom pretentiously walked back to meet Peter to find out what had happened.
"Peter..." Tom slowly called.
"Just leave me alone, Tom. I'm in no good mood right now," Peter replied, turning away from Tom, and Tom decided to let him be.
Tom shook his head and left Peter alone while Peter felt like crying.
He was a man, but he didn't believe spirituality was the cause of his problems.
Peter was sad and still unable to cry or let it all out in tears. A tear began to drop from his wet, sad eyes while he faced the wall, not wanting to look at the others staring at him.
Peter was heartbroken and felt terrible knowing he and Cindy wouldn’t date, as Cindy had run away from him, realizing how truly poor he was.

Cindy arrived home, remembering that her mother had told her she would be going out. Cindy still sat in her car after parking.
She couldn't believe what her eyes saw, as tears continued to roll down the corners of her eyes.
She loved Peter genuinely, but seeing that he was as poor as a church mouse made her sadder than she could explain. Her heart felt torn and broken into pieces.
"It's the first time I'm falling in love with a guy, and he doesn’t even amount to anything. Gosh!" Cindy hit her forehead on the steering wheel after turning off the engine. She shook her head sadly and cried into her steering wheel.
Finally sniffing, she sat up properly and thought about washing off her teary eyes at their outside tap, as she didn’t want her mother to question her about where she had been.
Stepping out of her black car, Cindy rushed to the wall tap by their compound fence, leaned over, and turned it on as she bent down to wash her face.
Luckily, she didn't have any makeup on, so she washed her face quickly to brighten it up and relax her teary eyes. She sighed and decided to take a walk behind their backyard before going inside to face her mother, so her face would calm and brighten a bit.
Cindy thought about the few sweet moments she had shared with Peter—the moment she had bumped into him when he hugged her strangely after she had run backwards, afraid of the black man she had been requesting.
Cindy smiled as she remembered how his broad-chiseled chest and arms had enveloped her small frame—she wasn’t even up to his shoulder. Just then, she heard her mother call out her name, "Cindy, Cindy, where are you?!"
Cindy quickly composed herself and turned back to walk to the front of their mansion, leaving the garden behind.
Mrs. Bola was gradually losing her patience as she stepped out to meet Cindy so that she could rush out in search of the handsome yellow man who made her feel excited.
None of the prominent staff at her husband’s company had made her heart race like the handsome yellow man she had admired at the marketplace.
She knew the yellow man was poor, but thought to lavish him with money, even if it was just for a one-night stand.
"Cindy! Where did you go? It's almost late. I’m hurrying out now and won't stay out longer. If anyone comes home asking for me, tell them that I'm not home and to give me a call instead," Mrs. Bola instructed as she quickly walked to her car, still dressed in her red gown.
"Okay, Mom," Cindy replied, noticing that her mother didn’t even have time to look at her as she got into her car and drove out of their garage in her Lexus Jeep.
Cindy sighed and walked back into their mansion, entering the living room where she saw Esther busy watching television.
"Good evening, Aunt, no—I mean Cindy.. Welcome home," Esther greeted, and Cindy's brows knitted in annoyance, but she didn't reply, opting instead to walk upstairs to her room.
Reaching her bedroom door, Cindy sighed and frustratedly pushed it open, walking in and dropping her purse onto her bed. She felt like a hen doused with warm water, soaked and drowned in her sadness.
She sat on her bed and finally laid down, thinking about Peter again.
"What am I going to do to help him? I shouldn’t have run away from him. I'm sure he feels bad right now because of my actions. Hmph, but I still like him. Maybe I should get him a new house to pull him out of the slump first.
No, Peter cannot continue sleeping there, and besides, if I don’t help him, another lady will." Cindy pondered and finally decided to buy a new house for Peter.
Satisfied with her numerous thoughts, Cindy smiled and resolved to contact a new housing agent to help her find a furnished house for Peter. She thought,
"Besides, I love him. Tomorrow I will call the house agency to help me find a suitable house for us. I will purchase it in his name, but I hope he doesn’t cheat on me while I'm away at work. I’m sure that way he will love me more and remain loyal. Gosh! He is so handsome."
Cindy kept smiling and blushing to herself as she thought about Peter while lying on her back, facing the ceiling.
"I just can't wait to hug him tomorrow and apologize. I know I owe him a serious apology for my rude behavior in running away, but I’m sure he will understand and know I didn’t do it on purpose. He’s my boyfriend now, and he can't continue to sleep under a bridge. No way!"
Cindy finally stood up from her bed and walked to her wardrobe to take out her nightgown, as night had gradually fallen, enveloping the evening sky in darkness.
Cindy smiled a little, pleased with the thought of buying a new house for Peter, and keeping it away from her mother and father—obviously, she wouldn’t marry Jeremy.
Cindy sighed, wondering where her mother had gone, remembering that she hadn’t even told her where she was rushing off to. She was also sad when she arrived home and didn’t want to look directly at her mother's face.
Cindy stripped off her clothes and walked to her bathroom to bathe, feeling a little relaxed with her decision to gift Peter a new house.
