Chapter 6

*Aria’s POV* “I'd tell you my name, but I’m sure you already know it because your boss kidnapped me.” I snapped back as the bodybuilder smirked. “What? You don’t think it’s true?” I snapped back, crossing my arms. “I can’t deny or confirm, miss.” He told me. I rolled my eyes at him and continued walking to where the ‘Kitchen’ was supposed to be. I had no choice but to go into the kitchen and pretend to look for food. “He never brings anyone to the estate. Hear him out before you try to escape.” An older lady told me as she walked into the kitchen. “Oh shīt!” I screamed, almost jumping on the counter. “You scared me half to death, lady!” I told the older lady as she shook her head and smiled. “My name is Nora.” She replied while bowing her head. Why is she bowing her head at me? “Why should I give him a chance to explain himself? Kidnapping someone is illegal in so many ways.” I replied to her while folding my arms over my chest. “He is not easy to deal with, and let’s not talk about his temper.” She told me while shaking her head again. “But, deep inside, he is a big soft teddy bear. He hasn’t had an easy life.” She told me with a frown. “Why are you telling me all of this? I am not his girlfriend or anything like that. He has kidnapped me, and I’m sure my dad will pay him back, and I can get the fūck out of here.” I snapped back. She nodded her head but didn’t say anything else about Mateo. “Would you like me to prepare something for you?” She asked me. “No, thank you. I’m no longer hungry.” I replied as I left the kitchen. “Why was Nora telling me all of that? Did she know something I didn’t? Where was Mateo? I haven’t seen him around yet.” I thought to myself while walking up the stairs to the room that I was assigned. Just as I was going up the stairs, I saw that guy that was with Mateo come in the door with a girl. “Did they kidnap you too?” I asked the girl. She looked at me in shock. “What?!” She screamed before shaking her head sideways. “How are you out of your room?” The guy asked me. “Your boss left it unlocked this morning when he went to gawk at me.” I replied sternly. “I suggest you go in there. You are already stirring up trouble as it is.” He snapped back. “Let me go, and maybe I won’t be so much trouble for you guys.” I replied, folding my arms. “If it were up to me, you would be gone.” He replied while grabbing the girl by her arm and taking her to a room. I turned around before stomping to my room. “What did he mean by me being enough trouble as it is? I haven’t done shīt!” I thought to myself. *Layla’s POV* *Before being taken to the estate* I was home relaxing on my couch, binge-watching Netflix’s new season of ‘You’, when I heard my phone ring. I looked at the caller ID to find Aiden calling me, and I instantly smiled. “Hello, babe.” I answered the phone. “Get a bag ready; I’m on my way to get you.” Aiden replied. “What’s going on, Aiden?” I asked, quickly sitting straight on the couch. “War is coming. I told you that you’re not safe in your apartment.” He replied. “Okay, I’ll see you here.” I replied. “Layla, don’t answer the door, and don’t look out the windows.” Aiden told me as I nodded as if he was sitting right in front of me. I quickly got up from the couch and ran to my closet, grabbing the first bag I saw and began stuffing clothes inside. I didn’t dare move from my walk-in closet. I just slid down the wall and brought my knees up to my chest as I sobbed quietly. I have always known what Aiden does for a living. For god’s sakes, I have even met his boss, Mateo. Since we began dating three years ago, Aiden insisted that I move in with them at their estate, but I kept refusing, as stubborn as I am. About fifteen minutes later, I heard faint footsteps in my bedroom, and my heartbeat accelerated. “This is it. This is where I die. All for being an i***t and not moving in with Aiden!” I thought to myself as the door to my closet opened, revealing Aiden with a worried look on his face. I sobbed harder, feeling relieved that he made it in time. He came into my closet and grabbed me quickly. “You’re moving in with me into the estate.” Aiden told me while I nodded before following him out of my apartment with him in front of me. Once outside, I saw Mateo standing by a black SUV. “Go with her to the estate. I’ll wait here for Tarantino.” Mateo told Aiden. “Si Capo.” Aiden replied as he ushered me into the SUV. He quickly got in, right next to me, before we sped out. “What is going on?” I asked Aiden. “War has begun.” He repeated. “What does that even mean? And why am I now being involved?!” I screamed at him. “You know I can’t tell you all that information, but you are no longer safe. You know we have enemies everywhere, and once they know I have someone I love or that Mateo has someone he loves, they will try and hurt them.” Aiden told me as I nodded in shock. Once we arrived at the estate, we walked inside before I heard a woman’s voice talking to me. “Did they kidnap you too?” The girl asked me. I looked at her in complete shock. “What?!” I yelled before shaking my head. “How are you out of your room?” Aiden asked her. “Your boss left it unlocked this morning when he went to gawk at me.” She replied sternly. “Oh, this girl was pissed!” I thought to myself. “I suggest you go in there; you are already stirring up trouble as it is.” Aiden snapped back. “Let me go, and maybe I won’t be so much trouble for you guys.” She snapped back, folding her arms. I wanted to laugh, but I was still shaken about what had just happened. “If it were up to me, you would be gone.” Aiden muttered before taking me to his room. “What was that about?” I asked Aiden. “I’ll explain later. I’ll be back.” He replied. *Mateo’s POV* I stood up and left Layla’s apartment. Levi had already returned from taking Aiden and Layla back to the estate and was waiting for me outside Layla’s building. I got in the SUV and told Levi to head on to the estate. … Once inside the estate, I got greeted by a very pissed-off Aiden. “Who pissed on your cereal?” I asked Aiden. “Aria was out of her room. And let me tell you that she gave Layla and me a welcome home greeting.” Aiden told me as I closed my eyes, taking deep breaths. I opened my eyes, looking at Aiden straight into his eyes. “What did she say?” I asked Aiden. “She asked Layla if we had also kidnapped her!” Aiden replied, making me laugh and shake my head. “Oh, she’s going to be a handful, huh?” I asked Aiden sarcastically. He looked at me as if I had grown two heads. “Where is she now?” I asked Aiden. “She’s upstairs in her room, I believe.” I nodded before turning on my heels and going upstairs. I knocked on her door, but she didn’t reply. I opened her door and walked in to find her standing by the window. “I heard you made a very nice welcome speech to Layla.” I told her, but she still didn’t reply. She didn’t even make a move, nothing. She was like a statute. “The silent treatment then, huh?” I asked her. Nothing! Geez, this woman was hard-headed as fūck! “Okay, so I guess I should throw you over my shoulder since that’s the only way you’ll talk to me.” I told her with a smirk. She turned around slowly. And looked at me. There she goes. “What the fūck do you want from me?” She asked, I expected her to be a crying blubber mess, but she was stern in her question. “Oh, geez! Her mouth will sure get her in trouble!” I breathed in and out. “Listen, Aria. I understand that you are mad. Scared even, but I will not hurt you. Unless you misbehave.” I told her.
