After returning from Mexico, Faith and I took another week off. It was the week that included New Year’s Day. Most staff were still on vacation, which meant we wouldn’t be missed. My yearly vacation entitlement was now eight weeks, of which I had only used three, so it was no problem for me to take extra time off. Faith, on the other hand, had just started at Interministerial Affairs and had already used up all her accumulated vacation time because of our trip to Mexico. So, any additional time she took off would have to be unpaid leave and would require the approval of her boss.
