SNEAKING out from Finch’s hotel room while wearing his clothes makes my heart throbbing so fast. I hope my colleagues won’t see me in this state, especially Jackson. Finch asked me to eat with him but I turned him down. He’d done enough damage to me today. I don’t want him to destroy me completely.
I was in the corner of the elevator so no one could notice me. The nervousness that I am feeling right now is filling me up. Finch insisted on walking me into my room and I don’t let him. What would the guests and even attendants think if they saw us in that state? Me in his clothes and him, beside me. And I don’t want to know about my hotel room. I don’t trust him, it’s better to be careful.
Walking fast in our building’s lobby so I couldn’t get any attention. I immediately got inside my room as soon as the elevator opened. I felt relief as I laid down on my bed. My room was not that spacious, unlike Finch. I have my own toilet, dining table, kitchen area, couch, and bed here. Since I’m living alone, it’s more than enough for me.
I grew up in a house where there's only one room for all of us. The small toilet, two-seater dining table even though we’re four in the family, and old things that we couldn’t afford to buy new. But I was thankful that I grew up that way. At least I know the importance of little things. How to appreciate and to live with it.
I changed my clothes and put Finch's in the laundry area. I feel so exhausted and hungry. I haven’t eaten my dinner yet but I’m feeling lazy to go to the cafeteria. For sure, Lucy is tired too. I don’t want to disturb her anymore. And Jackson, I don’t want to see him again. He pissed me off earlier and I’m certainly sure that he’ll just bug me about Finch.
I almost fell asleep when my senses alarmed as my door suddenly opened. I grimaced when I saw Jackson got inside with a paper bag in his hand. Of course, he has a key to my room. Perks of being a CEO. I turned my back on him. But deep inside me, I was thankful as I got here first before him. So, he wasn’t able to know what happened in Finch’s room.
“Get up, Sleepy-head. I brought you dinner.” He sat down on my bed and tried to pull my arm to see my face. “C’mon, my parents are in my office too. They want to see you.”
I keep laying on my bed with my eyes shut. I feel so drained and I just want to lay here until tomorrow morning. The hunger I was feeling vanished. “Just put the food on the dining table. I’ll eat it later.”
I felt him come nearer and I don’t have the energy to dodge anymore. I just covered my face using my hand then I heard him laugh.
“You’ll make my parents wait, Isabella? They’ll be sad if their future daughter-in-law doesn’t show up.” He is surely smirking right now.
My eyes automatically opened as I glared and rolled my eyes at him. “Asshole.” I got up and lazily walked towards the dining table. Jackson followed me and prepared the food he brought to the table. I started eating so is he but my body wants to sleep now to the point I can’t even hold the spoon and fork properly.
“Do you want me to feed you? It seems you need help.” Confusion in his voice vanished as his teasing voice filled my ear. “What Finch do to you in his room for you to act his way?”
I exhaled a loud breath. He really won’t stop, huh. “Did you just go here to piss me off before I sleep?”
He snickered which made me grimace once more. “I’m just asking. Why are you so pissed off?” He was still chuckling as he spoke. “Your reaction just made my suspicion true.”
There’s a scowl on my face now. “Don’t give meaning on everything, Jackson. I’ll tell your parents how you always bully me. Ready yourself to face their wrath.” An evil smile spread on my lips.
He’s the one who’s grimacing now. What I love about his parents is they believe in me more than they believe in their son. They reprimanded Jackson right away once I told them that he’s teasing me.
“Not because my parents like you, it doesn’t mean you’ll use it against me.” He’s now grinning from ear to ear after grimacing. “But it’s okay. What’s important to me is they like their future daughter-in-law.”
I threw him a small portion of meat. “Stop with daughter-in-law thingy. How could you get yourself a girlfriend if you always link your name to me?” My lips protrude while staring at him how he gasped for air because of too much laughing.
“You can be my girlfriend if you want. It’s fine with me.” He shrugged his shoulders.
“I don’t want to be in hell. Thank you.” I smirked at him as I chewed the food on my mouth.
He protested right away. “I can bring you in heaven you know if you just let me.” His wink brought a different feeling to me. This guy is so gross. A hearty laugh of him boomed in every corner of this room as he saw my disgusted expression.
“And I can bring you to hell you know. Just tell me.”
We finished eating and of course, our teasing session isn’t over. He kept asking me about Finch while I’m washing the dishes and he doesn’t even care if I’m already mad at him. This guy is impossible.
“Let’s go now,” I said when I’m done. My clothes are decent so I don’t have to change.
“Where?” He confusedly asked.
There’s a scowl on my face now. “To your office. I thought your parents are waiting for me?”
Enlightenment filled his face. He chuckled. “I’m just kidding. They’re already resting on their presidential suite. They want to eat breakfast with you tomorrow morning.”
I rolled my eyes at him. “If that’s so, I know you own where I’m standing but I’m asking you now to leave before I kick you out.” My eyebrow quirked at him while my arms crossed on my chest. I look so dominant as if he’s just an ordinary employee and not the CEO.
“Too bold, huh. I like that.” He licked his lower lip and winked at me again.
My eyeballs were about to fall for rolling so many times. “You can seduce everyone but not me. You’re gross, Jackson. Get out of here!” I literally kicked his ass until we reached the door.
He tried to dodge but because he’s laughing so loud, he can’t avoid my kicks. My breath hitched when he suddenly grabbed my right foot and pinned me on the wall. He’s not laughing anymore but his seductive and annoying smile is visible on his lips.
“Since I let you kick my ass, let me caress yours to make it fair.” A hint of smirk danced on his mouth.
I roamed my eyes on the hallway to see if some guests or attendants see us in this position. The ability to breathe suddenly left my body as I saw a man standing grimly at the end of the hallway. His entire demeanor screamed a man on a mission. His eyes were on me. I could feel the heated stare following my every move. It burned into my skin, my body on fire from just those eyes on me.
Jackson let me go and put a distance between us but his teasing look never left me. “Someone’s in trouble.” He whispered.
We’re the only ones in the hallway and it’s so obvious that Finch’s eyes were settled on me. His leather-clad arms folded across his chest. The muscles around his mouth were tight, making him look hard and detached at the same time. He looked at me with narrowed eyes again. There was a tense, silent moment when his gaze shifted from me to Jackson.
What the hell is he doing here?
I looked away as I couldn’t contain his stare anymore. I inhaled a long and deep breath. “You knew he’s standing there, that's why you pinned me here.”
The corner of his lips rose. “He’s just a guest, right? Why do you care so much about his opinion, hmm?”
So, this is part of his investigation plan. Jackson is unbelievable. “Damn you.”
He just smiled and kissed me on my cheek that made me froze. “See you tomorrow, Isabella. I had a great time with you tonight.” His voice was a little louder. Maybe, to make Finch hear what he said.
I want to struggle with this man to death. He started walking away and he even greeted Finch that now glaring at him before he got inside the elevator. He mouthed ‘good luck’ to me first before he finally went.
His gaze was deadly as he took steps in my direction. I don’t have anything to say to him.
Even if he sees me having s*x with someone else, I don’t have an obligation to explain myself to him. But my body was against my mind. I tried to turn my back on him before he finally stood in front of me but my body didn't want to. I remained standing while waiting for my last judgment.
He’s towering over me as he stands in front of me. His fists were tightening to his side while his massive chest expanded as he took a long deep breath. It seemed as though he was fighting for control and just seeing me, pushed every single one of his buttons.
“How did you get here? You’re not allowed in this building, Mr. de la Vega.” I remain cold as ice and hide all the emotions he can see in my face.
“Let me in.” There was a dangerous purr to his voice that sent a shiver through me.
When my mind already processed what he said, my eyes widened and shielded my door using my body. His eyes became darker because of my abrupt action.
“You can’t. Guests are not—”
“f**k those protocols. I’m giving you five seconds to open the door. If you don't, I’ll take you into my room and won’t let you leave until you can’t walk anymore.” He took a step forward, as if he wanted to grasp me, but he was trying to hold back.
My back is now against the door and I don’t know how to handle this situation. His presence is domineering. We stood face to face with tense moments and his deep ocean blue eyes were tight.
“I said you can’t. And even if it’s allowed, I still won’t let you in. I don’t want you in my room.” I said fiercely while looking directly into his enticing eyes.
I gasped as the anguish and hurt I saw in his eyes, the emotions he felt inside was reflected deep on it and I wouldn’t be lying if I said it didn’t affect me.
Why is he acting as if we’re still the same as before? I want to end his game but he keeps bothering me, confusing me, and destroying the better version of myself that I’ve built a few years ago.
“I hate when I can’t get the privilege that others can experience.” He paused for a moment, shook his head in an exasperated sort of way. “I hate it more when others get more attention than what I’m getting.”
“Indulge yourself with women who’re willing to give their whole attention to you then.” I turned away and was about to get inside my room because I can’t stand him anymore. He’s impossible. But before I could get in, he pinned me to the door and pressed his body against my back. His lips brushed behind my ear. One of his hands pressed flat to my stomach, the fingers playing to urge me back against him.
“Then entertain me more than you entertain your boss, Isabella. I want you to do to me the things you haven’t done yet with him.” His seductive voice was whispering in my ear while his hands were busy touching my body. “I’ll give you everything.”
“You can’t buy me.”
He spun me around to face him. Fortunately, no people were walking in the hallway. No one can see how Finch ruined my world… again.
“Hell, I can, Isabella. I can buy you. I can make you lure me again. And no matter you resist, I’ll make sure you’re heading your way towards me.”
Lowering his head, Finch pressed his lips into the crook of my neck. His tongue traced the wildly throbbing vein in my throat and I melted into him, my body was going lax as he pulled me even closer. What he’s doing to me makes me dizzy yet alive.
I couldn’t break from his strong grasp. I twisted and trashed but that only made him hold on tighter. “Why can’t you understand that everything you want to have won’t kneel and offer voluntarily to you? You can’t get whatever you want, Finch.” I gave him what I was sure was a blank expression.
His eyes softened and it was hiding emotions he didn’t want me to see. He settled his nose to my cheek, teasing my lips as he whispered, “What should I have to do to have you again?”
My entire body was trembling as I couldn’t contain the confusion. When it came to him, my emotions were all over the place. I didn’t want to feel that way, but it wasn’t something I could control.
We’re still an inch close to each other and I harshly pushed him away. Thankfully, I succeeded. I saw an unknown emotion in his eyes and he looked away.
“Ask me that again when you’re not wearing your wedding ring anymore, asshole.” I slammed the door in his face and I felt relief when I didn’t hear him knocking on my door. I hope he goes back to his room now because if I see him again outside my room, I’ll literally kick his face.
