Shadow's pov
I woke up and got the kids ready. They didn't fight me, and we were out the door early for once. I dropped them off at daycare, and they didn't fuss like they usually do. Maybe today was going to be a good day.
I was early enough I was able to stop at Starbucks and treat myself before getting to the library. When I got to my desk, I noticed a beautiful flower arrangement. I wondered who it was from, and why it was on my desk.
I was about to pick up the card and read it when my phone went off. I hurried to answer it. I wasn’t expecting it to be the one person I didn’t want to talk to.
