The Queen’s agenda.

1959 Words
The waters the brightest blue they have ever been, with the waves singing melodious songs to Dalia’s ears, as she finds herself succumbing to the hypnosis of the melodies from the deep ocean. Gradually, her legs takes steps that lead her from the shallow part into the deep end, until she finds herself sinking into the ocean willingly, that she neither resist nor fight against the waters, rather her body listens to the song till her legs reach the end of the water, in which no amount of swimming to shore can take her out, at the deep end which she is in. Her own actions taking her by surprise, with her eyes open as wide as that of an owl, while her body relaxes as though it has found what it’s been craving for in ages. And as usual, the waters seem to begin surrounding her, as they create a space for her in the deep end, such that  this unusual disturbance in the sea should send the living organisms that live there, down to another habitat, rather it seems they have also been awaiting Dalia’s presence, as organisms of different species round with the turning wave of the sea. All these supposed to bring flight and fear to Dalia, rather all she feels is joy and the feeling of being home and safe at last. The crying of Sebastian takes Dalia fast awake from the dream it is she is having, rather, the dream she has every night, as when her feet decide to hit the floor from the bed, she feels the wetness of her cloth, something which seems to occur after every of the dream. Dalia sighs weakly, having getting used to the experience, while her attention moves to something different, such like having Sebastian’s cries fill the room, and the sun already poking out, making her realize she may have indeed woken up late today, leading to Sebastian’s cries. Dalia picks the four months old up, as his cries die down seeing her familiar face, especially while she retains a smiling face to him, juggling with his chubby soft dark cheeks. With Sebastian still in her arms, Dalia peeks through the window, recognizing the familiar colored trees that brighten the palace, making this her second favorite view in the mansion. The first, being the garden she and Lucien walked through. Speaking of Lucien, Dalia’s gaze descends, catching grasp of Lucien’s back view, as to her surprise Lucien is not with his usual black coat, but a black pant and white long sleeves shirt, which Lucien now has the sleeves folded to a certain size around his arms.  Still watching, Dalia watches, as from Lucien’s demeanor she can tell just how frank and important his discussion is with who ever it is she can see, as Lucien has his back faced to her, covering who ever it is.  Sebastian’s cries takes Dalia’s attention again, but her main focus stays on Lucien, while she rocks Sebastian gently, just to watch more, and it seems her staring will come to an end, as Lucien pulls the one whom he talks to into a hug, revealing whom he is speaking to. Dalia’s eyes watching with no filter, while her hearts begins to break with something of such melancholy that fills her heart, watching Lucien depart from this woman she knows nothing of, except that she is of a high rank, based on her appearance which she now sees. Dalia doesn’t wait to see more, as the view alone breaks her heart for unknown reasons, while her head begins to place pieces together as of Lucien’s whereabouts yesterday of missing dinner with her. As though on cue, Sebastian’s cries comes again, as this time she knows she can no longer deprive the poor child of food, knowing it is exactly that. Seeing the state of Sebastian, Dalia gets no choice but to leave her room, still  in her night clothes that seem appropriate enough, not brushing her teeth or hair, and neither taking her bath, due to Sebastian’s appetite this morning. She gets into the kitchen not too long, seeing Yenefer in a haste with a tray in her hand, as Dalia and Yenefer meet together at the entrance, with one going in and the other going out. “Miss...” Yenefer’s gaze in surprise and fear, staring at Dalia, upon not having taken breakfast for she and Sebastian earlier, which she is about doing when Dalia walks in.  “Forgive me miss...I was just about bringing your meal, which I seemed to have overslept today on it. My sincere apologies Miss...”  “It is fine Yenefer. I understand, and it’s nothing at all, after all I’m here aren’t I.” Dalia cutting off the already regret filled Yenefer. “Still Miss, I am deeply sorry...”  “Yenefer it is alright. You want to know a truth? I also woke up late. More so, it is natural, and you do not need battle yourself, when I’m just like you and you haven’t done anything wrong.” Dalia assures Yenefer, earning an appreciative nod from her. “Good.” Dalia nods with a smile.  “Miss, come with me so you can take your breakfast now. I’m sure little Sebastian would be famished.” Yenefer says promptly, wanting to right her wrongs instantly. Dalia does know that Yenefer is indeed lucky she overslept  when she became assigned to her, as she believes if it is to have been earlier times when she served the Royals, this would definitely not go unnoticed. As they walk, Dalia can’t help but recall the courtesy Yenefer used to her, as she only nods her hard negatively at how stubborn the girl can be. “Yenefer,” Dalia calls her name as they walk back to the room. “Yes Miss,” Yenefer answers, turning her back to meet Dalia’s gaze, while they still walk. “You seem to be hesitant on just calling me my name?” Dalia questions her, while Yenefer sends her a shy smile, knowing Dalia is right. “It’s hard...” Yenefer begins to say as they approach her room in just a step. “I will try my best...” “Dalia?” As Yenefer’s hands reach the knob of Dalia’s door while speaking and getting in, whereas Dalia will do the same when she hears the familiar call of her name and her gaze turns back instantly seeing the Queen walk to her, and not just she alone, but with her son. Lucien. Dalia’s gaze going wide, for many reasons upon seeing the Queen, as one of them being that she isn’t presented properly to face her, not to talk of her son, whom her gaze locks with as they reach her. “Your majesty,” Dalia greets with courtesy, bowing gently with Sebastian in her hands. “I wasn’t...expecting you.” Dalia speaks skeptically, but truthfully. “And neither was I. I am passing by yet, it seems fate wanted us to meet...this way.” Lagartha’s words come, as her gaze can’t help but inspect Dalia’s appearance.  “Dalia, how are you?” Dalia’s attention moving away from the Queen, as her gaze locks and pauses on Lucien’s green ones, holding emotions in them, that even the Queen can detect vividly. “Your highness,” Dalia greets steadily.  “I’m doing well. Hope you had a wonderful night?” Dalia’s tone can’t help but slipping through off the battles that challenges her, as her words do come with care, yet, disturbing, which does not go unnoticed to the Queen and her son. Lagartha as a mother and ruler, already knowing what is going at place here, watches the two vividly as she can’t help but notice the aura her son emits from a woman like Dalia. An aura rare to find. “Your brother, I presume.” Lagartha cutting in, before Lucien can speak, regarding her gaze to Sebastian. “Yes your majesty. He bears the name Sebastian.” Dalia introduce with composure. “Brave name. May I?” At the Queen’s words, Dalia is taken back by her gesture of wanting to hold Sebastian, as even if that takes her by stun, she dares not reject, as she hands over Sebastian who begins to coo already in the Queen’s arms. “Beautiful boy.” Lagartha comments with a smile cascading her lips. “Oh, since the triplets were infants, I can’t recall holding a baby ever since.” Lagartha states with a chuckle, as all her actions do take Dalia by surprise at how she may have wronged the Queen, for thinking she may be stern. “My mother is one whom fancies Children, babies to be exact.” Lucien speaks, having the same smile on his lips. “Which is why I await yours.” The Queen turns to Lucien with a serious gaze, next to Dalia also with the same look.  Lucien’s gaze moving to notice Dalia’s, as she stares at the Queen in utter surprise to her words, taking Lucien to chuckle lowly. “Have patience mother, it won’t be long now.” Lucien makes his statement, with his gaze remaining fixed on Dalia’s, which she turns to him with eyeballs open and eyebrows scrunched. “I hear you son.” Lagartha nods in her sons words. “May I take Sebastian for a walk?” Lagartha inquires from Dalia, taking her gaze back to the Queen. “Of course you can, your majesty. The only problem being that, he hasn’t been fed yet, for that, he may disrupt your walk.” Dalia informs her. “And why hasn’t he been fed yet?” Lagartha questions Dalia straightforwardly. “Well...he was asleep the whole time and didn’t wake up until recently.” Dalia tries to formulate a lie of not wanting to snitch out Yenefer, while she thanks the heavens, Yenefer is smart enough not to come out. “If that is so then, I can feed him before we go for the walk, if you contend with that?” Queen Lagartha having her own agenda for wanting to take Sebastian from Dalia for a while, as per the air she perceives, Lucien and Dalia may indeed have words to say to each other. “Absolutely, your majesty.” Dalia nods with a smile, not realizing how to decline the Queen‘a offer, that she would like to be the one who feeds Sebastian. “If so, I will see you later son.” Lagartha speaks to her son, while he nods appropriately to his mother, before she leaves, creating space to be just Lucien and Dalia. “And it seems the Dalia Delvinkin may be upset with me.” Dalia gaze moves away from the trailing back of the Queen, to Lucien whose words come with a gentle smile on his face, as even if she ever did think of being upset with him, his gaze to her melts whatever that remains, as all she stares at is a breath hanging man, whom seems to slowly have her heart. Lucien zeak.
