DAWN’S POV
Where am I?
How did I end up with these bandages?
What time is it?
My siblings!
I need to go home and make sure they’re okay. No! Is it dark outside? Did I miss my shift at the convenience store? I need to go home.
“What are you doing, young lady? You need to stay for the night. You’re injured!” I ignored the nurse’s words and remove the needles from my hands forcefully.
“I need to go home. My siblings! I need to be with my brother and sister,” I noticed the nurse ran towards me before grabbing my bleeding hand.
“No! You can’t! You need to stay here. It has come to Miss Sena’s attention about your condition. Your siblings are fine.” Miss Sena? Did she meant Charlotte? How did Charlotte know about my siblings?
“Dawn?” My eyes widen as I saw Arthur and Lily walked into the room together with Charlotte.
“What happened here?! Nurse?” The nurse explained to Charlotte about my outburst while trying to stop my hand from bleeding.
“Dawn, why did you do that? Why do you always hurt yourself? You should stay here and get better. Charlotte picked us up from school, and she even brought us to dinner. We’re okay.” I smiled at my brother and sister.
“Thank you, Charlotte. I- I don’t know how to repay your kindness. If there’s anything I can do, I’ll do it. Thank you.” Charlotte smiled at me.
“For now, you should rest. Your body went through so much. You need to make sure to recuperate in this room. The doctors and nurses will make sure you get better in time. Please do not worry about your siblings. It’s the least I can do for you. The only reason you have to go through this is because of me.” I shake my head, no.
“No, it’s my fault. Please do not blame yourself.” How did I end up in this situation again? I made sure to not be in everyone’s way, and yet here I am.
“Charlotte, how did I ended up here? Did you help me?” Charlotte shakes her head no.
“It was Cataleya who stopped those guys from hitting you. Since Volin High doesn’t tolerate bullying, those who hurt you will have to face Swan’s wrath.” Swan? Charlotte smiled.
“Swan Clarkson is the person responsible for the scholarship and also our friend. She is currently in Dubai but will be here by the day after tomorrow. Your safety is her responsibility. That is why she has to come and deal with this matter personally.” I see. But I am fine.
I thought the teachers naturally just gave the student a warning and let them go. Isn’t that what they should do?
“What about the teachers?” Charlotte tilted her head.
“The teachers?” Charlotte chuckled.
“The teachers don’t do much in Volin High. All they have to do is teaching the students and worry about the administrtion matter. The student council, together with the disciplinary committee, is the one responsible for the students. There is only three prominent figure that you have to worry- Cataleya Volin, Swan Clarkson, and Charlotte Sena; me!” Prominent figure?
“Volin High doesn’t care about prestige. How can we stay idle while others coercing the students? I don’t think that’s a wise thing to do.” I chuckled. If only this woman know how disastrous society is, I wouldn’t be suffering throughout middle school.

THIRD PERSON POV
“How dare you smudged my family name for your stupid fan club! Will you be able to justify the damage you’ve done to the Clarkson family?! You mongrel!” Cataleya contemplated as Swan Clarkson beat the living daylights off a group of students who attacked the new scholarship student.
“Do you need help?” Cataleya inquired while Swan wipe the sweats off her forehead.
“Help? Sure. Let shows this group of students how scary the disciplinary committee can be.” Cataleya stood up from her seat before grabbing a baseball bat from the table.
“Did you think that that we wouldn’t do anything to those who disrupt this school’s order? Have you ever stop and think about the aftermaths of your action? This place is my territory! Volin High is our playground! What do you expect from us?!” Swan raised her hand before Cataleya started to beat the students.
“So what if your family is rich and powerful?! The moment you stepped in this place, the law doesn’t apply to you! Need I remind you that we’re martial artists. If you really need to fix the problem you have with each other, the school has prepare a fair amount of ‘cages’ for the student!” Swan clears her throat when Cataleya seems to be out of control.
“Cataleya Volin! Stop whatever you’re doing and turn around.” Cataleya stopped midway from hitting one of the students and turned around.
Swan nodded her head when the school’s principal and also Cataleya’s mother, Serafima Volin standing by the door.
“What is the meaning of this? I thought we agreed that whatever matters that relate to this school, will be dealt with by the principal. Luckily I manage to stop this before any of the students lost their life. Cataleya, you should know better!” Cataleya let go of the bat and grinned at her mother.
“Did Charlotte told you?” Serafima nodded at her daughter’s question. Cataleya turned to Swan.
“Remind me to annihilate that woman once we’re out of here.” Swan nodded.
“Cataleya!” Cataleya raised her hands when her mother advised her to behave. Serafima kneels to observe the students' condition.
“Should I revoke your names from being the president of the student council? Because if this is how you handle such small matter, I’m afraid Volin High would be in danger.” Serafima turned to face her daughter and her daughter's best friend, who is avoiding eye contact.
“We were not the ones who place our name on the ballot. It was the students of this school. We were surprised when they announced our name.” Swan tried to reason. Serafima called for the school’s nurses to bring the badly beaten students to the medical center while she’s lecturing both Cataleya and Swan for acting like a lawless brute.
“Follow me. We shall discuss this matter in my office. As a principal, I can’t be biased just because you’re my daughter, and you’re the daughter of my best friend,” Cataleya and Swan look at each other. The girls know that it’s never a good thing if they have to go to the principal office.
Serafima stood behind Cataleya and Swan before placing her hands on both of their shoulders.
“Perhaps I should show you how my mother taught us back in the days.” Serafima smirked.

DAWN’S POV
Ummm.
How should I go about this?
My siblings have been asking me if they could meet the ladies who sent us back last night. How am I suppose to tell them that those girls are not someone we should think of lightly?
Charlotte Sena.
Cataleya Volin.
Swan Clarkson.
These girls were born with a silver spoon shoved into their mouths. I am just someone from the slumps, which has no proper background. Hell, I don't even know the identity of my father. The only thing my father had given me was that icky chromosome.
I pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Arthur, Lily- I don't know them that well. Those girls are my senior, and I'm just a junior who required help. We're not close; I can't call them. I'm sorry." My siblings nodded, but I know they're sad. I wonder what did the girls do with my siblings.
"Dawn, are you okay? Why didn't you tell the doctor what mother did to you? You've been through a lot just to protect us from that woman. What if they can help us? I'm afraid that woman will try to take Lily away while she waits for me to pick her up. What if-," I hugged my brother and sister when they expressed their concern.
"I am fine. This is nothing. You two should know by now that I am one strong lady. Something this small shouldn't be a problem for me. Don't worry, okay? Now, don't be late, eat your breakfast. The bus will be here." Both Arthur and Lily nodded as they eat their breakfast.
As they eat, I placed their lunch in a brown bag before giving them.
"What about you?" Arthur asked. I smiled and told him that I am fine. As long as my siblings will not go hungry, I am fine just having a sandwich.
"Dawn, you're sick! You should eat more." Both Arthur and Lily has that troubled looks on their faces.
"I am fine. You guys should pick up the pace. We should go to the bus stop now." I watched as my siblings enjoy their breakfast.
"Will you be okay? You should just rest at home and skip school for today. Your bandaged chest seems kind of hurt." I patted my chest and pretend that I am okay. Even though it still hurt, I shouldn't show it to my siblings. As the oldest, I should show then that I am okay.
After my siblings eat their breakfast, they pick up their school and lunch bag before going to the door. Arthur and Lily waited for me as I locked the door before accompany them to the bus stop.
"Dawn-," Arthur stopped in the middle of the sidewalk when he saw someone familiar waiting at the bus stop. I immediately pulled my siblings behind me when that person saw and walking towards us.
"Dawn, how have you been? I heard that you manage to get yourself into Volin High. It must be a great deal since that school is only for selected people. How did you manage to get into that kind of school?" This man used to be one of our mother's clients.
He often went to our home and spent a night. This man is bad news. I need to get away from him or else.
"I manage to get myself a scholarship. Our mother left us. You shouldn't be here. You should ask the club where our mother is. I have no idea where she is." I said while taking a few steps back. The smell of alcohol from his breath alone is enough to tell me that he is not sober.
"I'm not here because of that b***h. I'm here because of you. You're a grown woman- and since your mother used to sell her body, I assume you would follow her footstep. I'm here to pay for your service. There is no need for you to go to school. Because the only thing you can do is spread your legs and wait for your client, right?" This despicable man!
I am not that type of woman! Such revolting human garbage!
What should I do? I can't let this man treat me and my siblings like this. I-
"Come on, Dawn. That b***h gave birth to you. I'm sure you inherit her good looks and body. It'll be our little secret. So come with me and quit going to school. It's not worth it." This man was about to reached out to grab my hand when someone get a hold of his collar and pulled him back- hard.
I watched as the man who pestered me fell butt first on the ground before being stepped on by a familiar person.
"How despicable! You are a waste of space. How dare you harassed a fellow student of Volin High. Charlotte was right after all. That man we saw lurking in the shadows last night is probably you, Huh?" Cataleya Volin!?
“Are you okay?” Cataleya asked. I nodded. It was too late for me to stop my siblings from kicking the man who was oppressing us.
“You crazy old man! How dare you say such things to our sister! Species like you need to have a taste of his own medicine!” I would never have thought that Arthur, who usually would just stay behind me, will act this way.
Even Lily is kicking that man using her tiny feet. Cataleya chuckled upon seeing such a scene while holding the man down by the chest with her foot.
“Who is this man?” Cataleya inquired.
“He used to be one of our mother’s client.” Cataleya scoffed before facing the opposite direction.
“Seems like someone is watching you. Is there any reason for these people to do so? Or are you borrowing money from those thugs?” Huh? Someone was keeping an eye on me?! But who?
I looked at my surroundings and didn’t even notice anything.
“Don’t be so surprised. It was obvious that someone or some organization is targeting you. Besides, Charlotte and Swan, including myself, saw something that shouldn’t be there last night. We thought you might get into turmoil, and that is why Charlotte asked me to come here this morning. But I didn’t expect that person to be this stupid.” I- what should I say?
I- I have no idea that someone had placed a target on me. Is this has something to do with my mother, who suddenly flees and let me and my siblings fend for ourselves? That woman who gave birth to me- that woman should never be a mother in the first place!
“Do not worry. Since you’re a student at our school, the school will do something about this matter. The student’s safety is our top priority. Besides, Volin High is more than a mere school.” Cataleya smiled as a group of our school disciplinary committee suddenly arrived to arrest the man who laid on gbr ground.
Just what kind of school of Volin High?
