Chapter 8 The tapping on his window startled Leo, causing him to jerk against the seatbelt. Daylight had faded, casting the city in a twilight glow. And standing alongside his car was a cop. Caleb, to be exact, and behind him was Highlander, the horse looking out of place. In the light of the streetlamp, Leo noted the reflective gear both Highlander and Caleb sported. Leo powered down the window. Caleb, having been wearing sunglasses, took them off and put them in his pocket. “The department received a call about a guy sitting his car near the park. Is everything okay, Leo?” There were kids laughing and playing at the swing set Leo had occupied just a day or two ago.
