Smelling the scent of disinfectants and slowly opening her eyes Bella sees ghastly white walls surrounding her…
“Ugh…” Her head still hurts and she can’t make clear her blurry vision. After blinking several times and adjusting her eyes to the brightness of the room, she makes clear a man sitting next to her bedside.
“You’re awake? How are you feeling?” Chase asked with a lowered tone, nothing like his usual cheery disposition.
“I’m… fine…” Bella said her reactions still slowed due to the effects of her fainting. She tried to sit up on her own but couldn’t.
“Wait, I’ll help you.” Chase gently helped her sit up by holding onto her arm.
“Thank you…” Bella said now regaining a bit of her consciousness.
