Chapter TwelveBending over the bed, the medical officer, holding Simms's wrist, pursed his lips. “It's either a chest infection or, more than likely, a touch of pneumonia.” Simms, looking up into the man's concerned face, groaned. “Ah s**t. Pneumonia?” The medical officer nodded. “My advice is rest, keep yourself warm and eat hot broth. And drink. Water. Lots of it.” He turned and summoned the woman standing in the corner to come closer. She was small, wearing a one-piece dark blue quilted robe, covered by a white pinafore.
