2. A Beast

ROMAN’S POV: “Come back, Edward,” A beseech echoed in the silent night, when tides were high and the moon was full. My hands tightly grabbed the hem of her dress as I peeked from behind her. He turned around hearing her cry as he whispered through the silence “I’ll be back,” “Nah, you won’t,” The woman bawled out loud as I shuddered with the agony it instilled in the aura around us. A melancholy whispered through the thin walls as my lips puckered into a pout and a tear or two slid down.  I saw him come back to us and as he crouched down to me. Then his hands invaded the thin shield of her dress and gently caressed my cheeks as he cooed me for something unknown to me at that time “I will be back someday for yah,” and I smiled trying to wipe the traces of the tears with the back of my hands, leaving the hem of my mum’s pale-colored dress, until her hand nudged me behind and the warmth of the man’s hand was scooted away. I believed him somehow for what he said. “Don’t yah give him hopes, Edward,” I heard a shrill voice and then there was repentance I heard at a distance “I need to go,” and then the silence covered us both. My eyes widened as I rubbed my face all over, trying to rub the sleep off my swollen eyes. I while took me to digest the loneliness brewing inside and then I shunned the blanket off me as I made my way to the shower. Turning the dial to the cold side, I stood under it. I kept on gazing at the grey-stoned wall until I masked the hollowness inside with a mask of fake hopefulness. Every night it was me, him, and her. Again and again and again and again. In a loop since the day he left us. But now there was someone else too. Someone who doesn’t belong to me. Someone who can never belong to me. But still, hope lives like the one that has churned in me for the twenty-nine years of my life. Sliding the door of my walk-in closet to the left, I got ready for a day full of pretentiousness. A routine I have chosen for myself and for others to look upon. The Roman that woke up this morning always dies within the shower and the one that gets out is witty and charming. Slowly treading outside my penthouse, I locked the door and then made my way to the door next-door. Clucking the key inside the keyhole I made my way inside and settled myself on the kitchen bar stool. I waited as usual until a plate full of food was slid my way along with a sarcastic remark as usual “Eat, you f*****g hippo. One day I am not going to be here,” I raised my brows as I drenched my pancake with the maple syrup and then taking a mouthful replied back “Pass me the juice, mate, and that you have been sayin for at least twelve year’s. When ya get balls do tell me, bugger,” and for that my head was slammed hard with something metallic and that made me swear out loud “Dickhead, ya fuckin ruined my hair,” “Like there was any hairstyle already,” Another sarcastic snippet thrown my way as I tried to shape my disheveled hair into something presentable and then shoved my fork again in the pancakes. I kept on stuffing my mouth until someone sat beside and I felt a continuous glare on myself. For a moment I ignored and as it penetrated deep I got annoyed “What nohw?” I heard him sigh as he inquired as usual “Upset with him,” and I ignored his query as I kept shoving food into my already stuffed mouth just to get away with the question until he snatched it aside and then queried again “Tell me, Roman. Don’t f*****g shut everyone out,” and that was it. I slammed the fork on the counter as I got up, shoving the bar stool back, and then hissed “Aren’t yahh upset, Muhib. Maybe not. Maybe you will kill her. Do it. I dare yah all but don’t fuckin put me in. Tell him to keep it to his fuckin self,” and then stormed off his apartment or tried so until he grabbed my hand from behind and murmured “What I know about you, nobody does but he loves her. He needs her,” and I could hear the helplessness brewing inside and my shoulders slumped as I gazed back to his brown eyes and then whispered trying to shut the door to the red valley of despair “When ya love, yah don’t do this. I am the bad guy and the fucker always but not in this. Just keep ma out, mate,” and then untying his hands around my arms I almost ran to the elevator just to dodge his pleas again. “Fuckin, s**t,” I uncoiled myself on the car door as I kicked it again and again until my legs gave up. Never in my life, I have been this week but now I am. I drove as fast as I could and as my feet crossed the barrier of the reception area, a hand grazed me gently. I gazed back to find Alice with all the right curves at all the wrong places and face with a pout that was an invitation to sin. “Maybe, I’ll bring your coffee today, Sir,” She grazed me with her carcass hands over arm's length as I tried to subdue my wrath upon her. I grinned gently as I replied shunning her hands off “With sugar and extra milk, Babe,” and then walked past without giving her a second glance. As I reached my room, I tried to submerge myself in the bundle in front but not for too long. As I read through the documents of a joint merger, someone came in without knocking and I knew who it was so I didn’t bother. I heard him sigh but still kept on gazing down until his hand pushed the documents to the floor. “Fuckin s**t, what would ya do that?” I roared but his eyes didn’t lose the calm. Where did he get that though? His hair all parted neatly and shirts so unwrinkled hiding the uncleaned soul neatly and effortlessly. He gazed through me as I scorned and then crossed him over to the couch. He kept on standing and then followed me down as he crouched down my legs and then put his hands to them. “She is mine and you know that,” He whispered, and of course I knew that. Knowing that was not the problem accepting was. As I kept my quiet, he continued “She is a key to the darkness I hold, Rom. You know her better than I do. Help me. I won’t beg but will ask indeed. I want you with me,” I bit my lips hard as I tried to soothe the raging storm inside “You have plenty, Zee,” and he stood up as he sat by my side as glanced at me. He was an enigma of all of us. A mystery to unknown meadows. He hid well and I did too. That was what was common between us both. He sighed as he clutched his hand tight “It’s not enough. She needs to be broken. By you not by me,” “This is obscenity, Zee. You want her to broken but ya going to be broken first, mate. Jot it down. I am by your side, man but when this ship sinks, I’ll float away,” I indecisively agreed to his plan to raise hell on earth, and in response, he just nodded as he replied “This is it. Once she in mine, I’ll give her the world,” and I just thought a thing that has ambushed me my whole life. What if the world doesn’t matter at that turn of life? I just kept quiet as I heard his footsteps leaning to the exit. As he got out and I rested my head with the back, another knock jolted me up and a scowl formed to see the one in front. “Hey Roman, I brought you bagels and coffee. Just like you want it,” Alice rested her heavy ass on my crouch as she rubbed herself against me, making me want to take her down this instant. Her hands came to my face as I gently pushed them back and within the next instant, she was in my lap, against the desk. “Babe you’re gonna regret it,” and she just gave me a lick down my face in return. Her hands found the hem of my shirt as she undid them and I firmly greased her with the sweat forming on my palms. But before we could go any further with our raw animalistic desires a knock broke our trance and I barked annoyingly “Who is it?” while she just kept on fumbling with the zipper of my pants, just in an attempt to get them off. Not long after I heard a voice, I could never forget, a voice for which I waited “It’s me, Ashk Harvey. I w…was here for the legal advisor's assistant job,” My heart yearned to see her and for that, I pushed Alice back and she yapped at the abandonment of my hands on her thighs and neck “Let her go. We are in the middle of something,” and I just scorned as I replied distastefully “We are done, baby,” and then said out loud “Come in,” as I tried to conceal my all so naked self. A few seconds later, she was in. My hands left the hem of my shirt as I gazed at her. She of all was here. Those translucent eyes and that skin that indeed was a replication of snow on the sea made me static but the feeling was mutual as her eyes didn’t leave the sight of my hands playing with my buttons. I waited for her to say something but at last, I grinned a cheesy pickup line on her “Done looking at me, matey” and that was when she realized her doing. She was a natural and raw beauty. A rare one indeed and I have known that for a while. Her gazing didn’t bother even a bit. In fact, it induced ecstasy in my pores. She swiftly lowered her head as she replied “I am sorry,” I buttoned my half-done shirt as I gazed at her bashful self, even the redness of her cheeks above the little freckles was enticing. So dressing myself up I said “Let the fun being, Miss Ashk,” and her eyes popped out at the hidden meaning of these simple words as she exclaimed “Excuse me,”, For which my reply was just “Come in ya or should I,” and I would have gone to her this instant. I would have cornered her to the door and ripped herself in two for my eyes to devour her but a hunter never eats before playing. She came forward as I went to my chair and took my seat. A woman like her shouldn’t be submissive or was this all a play. I should know that before playing the game I intend to for the things she has done to me.  A beast has been awakened and the beauty was in front. Let's get to know the secrets she hides behind these pearly eyes.      Do Roman and Ashk know each other from before? Which period is this? Why Zayan was here to meet Roman?
