Chapter 5Nash was shivering. He hadn’t been this f*****g cold since…well, he couldn’t remember when, but it had been years—many years. What he was doing hanging around Arlo’s garden, he didn’t know. He knew why of course, he was there to make sure Gilbert didn’t come to do something he shouldn’t, but why he cared was a mystery. Several times during the last hours, he’d been on his way both home and to Gilbert’s. He’d briefly walked up the road in an attempt to get a little warmer and had seen the lights in Gilbert’s living room window. He could go there and ask what the f**k it had been all about in the pub, but if he did, he’d have to leave Arlo unsupervised.
