Chapter 3 Hernandez was overwhelmed by the offer, "Thank you my Lord but I do not think we deserve to be welcomed into your home." He was immediately slapped by the lycan called Kareem before he could complete his sentence. "How dare you refuse our king?" He barked and wanted to attack Hernandez again but was stopped. "Leave him, he is my guest, treat him well," the lycan king said then looked at Aurora who was still having a mental breakdown. "She rides with me." He then turned his attention to Hernandez and said sternly, "You may remain in my kingdom, but only as my guest and under my protection. Do not forget who holds the power here." All the lycans bowed in response and shifted to their lycan forms which caused both Hernandez and the women to shriek in fear. Suddenly, the men seemed taller and more intimidating than ever before, and Hernandez could feel the power radiating from their transformed forms. The men around them all turned into wolf-like beasts standing on their hind feet. The lycan king was the last to shift but his lycan form was more terrifying than the rest. He growled menacingly, a sign of dominance and aggression, as their transformation concluded. Aurora's legs shook until she couldn't stand on them, so she collapsed. Her eyes were wide open, her heart pounding as if she was about to be slaughtered. She had never seen anything like the beast before her. It was twice the height of a tall human being, his fur was black and shiny, and his mouth was shut but it was evident that it hid a set of powerful dentitions that could crush men's skulls with ease. One of his eyes had a claw mark drawn from above his eyebrow to below his eyes. Aurora failed to notice when he was in his human form because she was too scared to look at his face. His cores were cold and silver-colored. He stared at Aurora unblinkingly like he wanted to bore a hole in her forehead. He stuck out his red tongue and licked his snort which only made the humans in their midst feel like they were prey. His large muscles were unhinged with veins pumping from every angle. He was the most muscular among the Lycans present and his claws were also the sharpest. They were longer than regular claws and razor-sharp, so sharp they gave the illusion they could cut through metal. His intimidating presence was undeniable, causing the humans to believe they were no match for him. He prowled towards Aurora and swept her off her feet, causing her to yell in shock. He pressed her head on his neck and whispered in her ears. This shocked her. She didn't expect the beast to still speak. "Hold on tight," he said. He turned and began sprinting into the forest. The rest of the lycans that weren't carrying the couple broke into two groups. The first group ran away from their King while the second group stayed behind. This part of the forest didn't allow carriages. One had to either be transported by a Lycan which was rare or walk to the kingdom on extremely dangerous foot. Humans were not welcomed in these parts, they would be killed or eaten if caught uninvited to the forest. Lycans were very territorial and border patrol lycans were very dangerous. They never spared trespassers. Aurora had her eyes tightly shut as the wind grazed her cheeks. She didn't want to look at the monstrosity that she had her arms wrapped around his neck. She could hear his heavy breathing which only made her anxiety even worse, but her heart finally hit rock bottom when the Lycan king abruptly stopped. His breathing became heavy as he sat down. Aurora refused to keep her eyes open even when her back was sharply slammed against a tree from behind. "Open your eyes!" The lycan king's roar resounded. Slowly but surely, Aurora opened her eyes. Her entire body shook as she stared into the cold sliver eyes of the panting Lycan king. She was so mortified that her eyes became frozen. He grasped her chin firmly, his grip tighter than a vice. "How?" The lycan king barked then his gaze softened for a moment as his eyes trailed down her bare neck. A low growl escaped his lips followed by his lecherous snort. He rubbed his black nose against her neck and inhaled deeply. "How are you calling out my rut?" The Lycan king released toxic s*x pheromones to ward off other males which only made his men cough hysterically. "My King... Control your rut or we might all die," his right-hand man, Kareem said through their shared mind link. The lycan king who was drowning in a sea of lust opened his eyes and transformed into his human form leaving him unclad. As his breathing calmed, his eyes returned to their original black form. His head dropped as he panted heavily again. "Ka—Kareem," he began with a barely audible voice, "take her. Her scent intoxicates me and calls out my rut." With that he let Aurora fall to the rough, forest ground without any concern for her fragile body. Then he hurried away from her. He couldn't bear to stay any longer - the temptation of the raw, primal desire was too much for him to resist. It has been ages since he last lost control like this. Years of experience had made him a master in controlling his primal instincts but for some reason, being close to the girl he just drove his lycan side insane, he had to fight with himself not to lose control otherwise he would have claimed Aurora here and now. He had to run away from her because he could smell the scent of her female. All he wanted was to be between her legs and make her scream his name into oblivion as he rode her. His longing for her was so powerful that it drove him to make a desperate escape. Even with the distance between them, he could still smell her. He smiled at himself as he sprinted. He didn't need his trusty witch to tell him that the human girl was the chosen one. This was the one he was promised by the goddess of the moon, his better half and the liberator of his kind. For centuries, Lycans have suffered but all that was ending soon.
