Chapter 9-2

1227 Words

Wayne held Jack’s face, kissed him, feeling the light stubble graze against his own. Jack wrenched away. “Hold on!” He went around the corner and doubled over, heaving. Wayne walked over. “Hey, are you okay?” Jack shook his head, held out his hand to keep Wayne back, and vomited more. Wayne stood there, then finally turned away as the stench got to him. Cars in nearby streets honked, and Wayne could hear voices from laughing drunks pass one street away. Jack raised his head. “Can you tell Pad and Jen, I’m out here. I don’t feel so good. I think they’re right, I should go home.” Wayne looked around the alley. It didn’t seem safe now that he thought about it. “Why don’t you come in, back to the bar?” Jack spoke. “I’m not sure I’m done yet. Please, Wayne.” Jack didn’t turn to face him.
