Wayne dusted the dirt off his shoes, got up, and pressed himself right next to Pad. The club that Jen picked was a “mixed club” but the music supposedly was good. Jen told them that a local DJ that got rave reviews was spinning that night, and that this club was one of the most popular in Ybor City. Wayne didn’t care to go to bars that had both straight and gay guests because of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” In these mixed clubs, gay couples could kiss and hold hands in the bar, but a straight military person could rat on a gay military member without repercussion. At least in a gay club a code of silence existed.
