Chapter - 06

I was at my locker when Jace came and trapped me between him and the locker. I blushed at the closeness but somehow controlled my emotions.

I don't know why I am skipping heart beats everytime I think about the kiss we had or when I see him. The butterflies in my stomach just starts to flutter.

"Hey baby doll"

J greeted tucking the piece of hair behind my ear and I instantly looked down.

"Hey"

I squeaked out. Even though he knew I wanted to turn around and grab my stuff from the locker, the i***t didn't budge and stood there.

When I turned to the locker my back pressed to his chest and suddenly the heat from him passed through me. I mentally scolded myself for being so out of breath near Jace and a mess today.

"I have a tennis match today and I want you to come."

Jace straightly told me, his chin resting on my head. Well his offer feels appealing which I accepted easily. He gave me a jersey, on it his surname was printed Matthews.

I smelled it in front of him and the same lavender smell hit my nostrils but I instantly regretted doing it. Jace saw me doing that and chuckled. Shyly I folded the jersey and put in in my locker.

He kissed my forehead and walked me to my class then leaves for his. When I was on my seat a group of cheerleaders got up from there regular place and came to sit behind me.

The class was already been started when I overheard one of them talking about Jace and me. One of them even said that me and Jace are friends with benefits.

I rolled my eyes at that. Girls in this school are really brainless. Like seriously they don't even think about speaking bullshit.

My anger enraged when of them called me a s**t. Thats when I turned on my seat and without fearing the teacher I said..

"Get a life girls! Gossiping s**t about someone is not gonna take you anywhere. Be a Woman and stop s**t-shaming."

Even the teacher heard what I just did and told me to wait after the bell rings. The whole class was looking at me but when the teacher slapped the table noisily everybody turned there attention to her.

After the bell rang I waited for everyone to leave so I could talk to the madam in private.

"What was that Skylar?"

She straightforward asked me. The sweat started forming in my palm and I rubbed it over my jean.

"Those girls talking bad things about me. I can't let someone talk about me like that."

I said after gulping the saliva in my mouth.

"You could have told me or the counselor"

She advised me while stacking the papers.

"I will do that next time"

I gritted out and left the class without her permission.

The school is never going to change unless you stubbornly change it. And the bullying has became a culture, a part of school life. You could either be a bully or get bullied. This is how it flows.

At the third period, I was a little bit late for the class. Jace was already there. He winked at me when I was walking towards him and after reaching he pulled me through my palm to make me sit beside him.

"Why are you late?

He questioned under his breath while looking at the board. His hands roughly going through his brown locks.

"I forgot to bring my book so I went to my locker"

I lied once again. Seriously I didn't wanna lie to him but I also can't bug him with those small matters.

He hummed in response and started writing formulas in the notepad. I was writing mine when I felt him stealing glances of me.

Something changed between us after the kiss. I don't know what but we aren't the same around us anymore. I am curious if he feels the same or not.

"we should hangout more"

Jace stated purposely looking down. I acted as I was thinking about it but in reality I was screaming in my mind.

It was my first kiss so probably I am gonna react like this. This is how every teenage girls react right?

"yeah.. we should"

I murmured tucking my hair strand behind my ear. For a second our eyes connected and that's exact moment out of nowhere I bit my bottom lip.

'and we should kiss more often'

"What??"

My eyes widened at his words. I couldn't believe what I just heard was true or not.

"What?? Nothing?"

He looked here and there as if he really didn't said it. For a moment even I didn't believe my ears. But my intuitions said otherwise.

I nodded to myself and started doodling on the notebook. I made a funny boy sketch and named it Jace. When Jace what I did he also made a sketch of a girl with big nose and named it after me. I marked it crossed and ruined it.

"My nose is small and sweet... huh"

He found my words funny and started laughing which made me even more angrier. He was seated facing towards me. So I pushed him with all my force and made him fall backwards.

I dramatically clapped the imaginary dirt from my hands and looked at him with challenge. Everybody in the class were looking at the little scenario. Luckily the teacher wasn't in the class.

"You are gonna pay for this"

Jace groaned. His head bumped at the headrest of the chair when he was falling.

"Make me"

I stick out my tongue and watched him getting up awkwardly from the floor. He was rubbing the back of his head when I pulled myself towards him and gently massaged him there.

He took this opportunity to come closer to me and leaned his forehead on my shoulder. Even I didn't realise that we were in this position in the class.

After the bell ring, he pulled me against him and intimately. My heartbeat immediately raised and I got lost in our little bubble. His face was so close to my face that if I moved my lips even to speak then they would touch to his.

"Skylar Grace... Don't you dare play with me"

Jace murmured against my lips. His eyes not leaving mine and my heart just thumping loudly. I am thrilled Jace didn't heard it till now.

"Uhmm hmm"

Someone cleared their throat and that's when Jace and I jumped away like we just burnt eachother skin.

I hastily started putting my stuff in the backpack and out like me bottom was on fire. Jace was hot on my tail. I leaned my back on the wall to take a sigh of relief when I was at a safe distance.

Soon Jace joined me and stood beside me. Our fingers entangled together unknowingly. We stayed there for a while than started laughing without saying a word.

"Lets leave"

He said and pulled me through our entangled fingers. I started walking behind him as he said.

"Jace I am going out for lunch you wanna join ?"

I asked hoping he would say yes.

"Why?"

Well that question I didn't expected. My hand was still in his as if I am going to run away from him.

"The canteen food doesn't tastes good. duh"

Jace nodded and dragged me along with him towards the school gate. He told me to inform others so they could join us.

"I don't have there numbers"

I told him. He looked at me as yeah obviously' then tossed me his cell phone.

I catched it with one hand and swiped up to unlock it. There was a group already in there with a name B.F.L (brothers for life). I tapped open it and send a text saying lunch at MC'D.

Just when we both reached the school parking we saw others already there talking and laughing. They saw us and signalled us to come over.

"We are going in my jeep"

Sam said pointing towards his hummer jeep. We all agreed but the problem came when we all couldn't fit inside.

"Women on your man's lap now... Thats where you belong"

Gabe shouted. Lexi was the first one to jump on Carter's lap and then followed by Kylie on Kyle.

"Sky... You can sit here... I am all here for you."

Riley joked which was more like his perverted side coming to surface. I made a very sweet face and said.

"I would rather sit on a cactus than on your lap"

"Eye's off my girl dude."

I heard Jace punching Riley on the chest then pulling me towards him. I had no other choice but to sit on his lap.

While sitting on Jace lap, I was highly conscious about my weight that I actually half in the air. Jace noticed my uncomfortable behaviour and snaked his hand around my waist. He pulled me really close towards him that our bodies were touching.

During all this time he's chin was on my shoulder and both the hand on my lap playing a game in his cell phone. I was surprised that he has a game in his cell phone.

I got a message from Jace. I looked at him across the table drawing my eyebrows together, a smile was already on my lips.

Hello handsome!

Mimicking his way of using nickname I texted back. Jace was sitting across the table. I was stuck between Kylie and Lexi.

I felt Jace trapping my feet between his which made me widen my eyes. I looked here and there to see if anyone saw me or not. I pulled out my feet from the bellies then slowly ran my toe on his leg.

Jace was suppressing his emotions. At a time he even shut his eyes tightly and when he couldn't bear it he pulled back his leg. I winked at him telling that I won through my expressions.

Are you testing my patience Skylar Grace?

When I read the text I immediately bit my bottom lips to contain my smile. He knew where I was going still he asked me.

—Me

What do you mean J-J? :-?

If he can corner me than he must know who is he dealing with. I knew how to get out of this situation and how to control my expression.

After my text he didn't said anything and got busy with there plans for weekends. Kylie and Lexi told me to come over there place so we could go shopping together and spend the night together after the party.

"Guys I am not sure I have to ask my folks"

I told them. I wasn't even sure about spending night with them. Kylie is good but sometimes I feel like a third wheel between her and Lexi.

"Don't worry gurl... my mum will ask your parents so they don't have to worry about ya"

Kylie cheered me up and hugged me sideways. I returned the hug and we discussed about the shopping.

After the school Jace and I couldn't spend time together. He had a tennis practice so I had to went home with Kylie. My grandparents were happy to meet her, specially Nana.

And I knew if Nana liked her than Kylie is good to be friends with. Because like they say 'your parents knows whose your true friend's. Nana is super good at judging people's nature at the first meeting.

During the night I got a text from Jace, he told me to snuck outside my house. I told him to go away but he didn't budge and threatened me if I didn't come outside in 5 minutes then he will come inside.

I hurriedly pulled a black hoodie over my tshirt and tip-toed outside the house through the kitchen. I didn't knew Jace was on the door and just when I stepped out he pulled me in a hug.

"You nearly gave me a heartattack you stupid rat"

I scolded him and he laughed for nothing. I pulled him away from the house to the backyard and asked what he's doing here?.
