Carissa’s POV
Scorch was carrying me on his back since my legs were getting tired, it felt nice. We were in silence for a little while as he walked. I didn’t feel as on edge anymore since his scent calmed me down. His back was comfortable, so a smile was plastered on my face that I didn't notice until he said, “I can feel your smile on my shoulder.” He chuckled lightly. “I didn’t think you would smile anytime soon,” he joked. “By the way, I'm sorry I freaked you out and caused you to faint.” He didn't need to apologize. "You thanked me for saving you, but I didn't apologize for causing you to need to be saved.”
