I threw the pregnancy test in the trash and sighed deeply. I anticipated it to display the two lines that indicate a positive result, but it only showed one. That morning, I awoke with a searing pain in my lower abdomen. My breasts swelled for days, leading me to believe I was pregnant, so I took the test, only to be disappointed when it came out negative.
Selena had told me that the test was supposed to be conducted a week after the insemination, but I waited a week and two days and was disappointed.
