Ocean….
A dark electrifying ocean at night, struck by strong lightening, that had roared up the sea at night and created sending ripples down the entire oceanic system.
Emilia felt just that as she was looking in to those soft blue eyes of the handsome man, who was holding her back from falling down.
It was clear as a day to Emilia herself, that she was definitely attracted to those blue eyes and she wanted to get lost in them forever.
“Just let me know when do you plan on standing up straight…”
Emilia realized that there was more to those eyes and the mouth, that was attached underneath the nose on that face, spoke up for the first time, making Emilia look down at those plum lips.
She gulped hard, as shivers ran down her spine and she felt bedazzled at the beauty of the man that was in front of him.
Even Henry was stunned for a moment, seeing how lost Emilia was and how keenly she was looking at him, “Umm… not that I mind saving you from falling down, but I do have hands that can get tired…”
He once again reminded Emilia that was still perched backwards and being held by Henry, something for which she was doing nothing about.
Realizing that she was standing like a dumbfounded person for far too long and showing how obviously smitten she was by the man, she immediately straightened up and stood on her feet, turning to finally look at the face of the handsome man that stood right in front of her.
Her eyes felt delusional, as her pupils dilated and colorful heart strings began forming in to the lens of her eyes, as she saw nothing but colorful hearts bursting around Henry’s face, which drew her entirely in to a state of euphoria.
Her heart was beating way too loud and her mind was totally lost.
No! no! no!
This can’t be happening to me.
Her subconscious cursed her, for what she was doing.
She was developing a crush on Henry; the man that she didn’t even know of.
The attraction was too strong and she couldn’t deny it in any case.
The burst of colors, pulling her out of her monochromatic world and in to the one of sweet and sour sensations, that erupted in her heart; all of which she could see blooming all around Henry, were enough to tell Emilia, that she had fallen; hard, very hard for the man.
A crush at first sight, something that had never happened to her before but it just did.
Fuck!
She cursed herself once again, knowing that she was doomed; after seeing such a gorgeous man standing in front of her.
“Are you done?” Henry, waved his hand in front of Emilia, finally knocking her out of her lostness.
It wasn’t the first time that someone was reacting this way in front of him. He was obviously used to of how people got starstruck by his appearance but one thing that he didn’t know for sure, was what made Emilia feel so lost.
Her cheeks were burning hot red, just like her entire body and she felt ashamed of how much she had gawked at him.
Gulping hard in shame, she moved her hair on the front, making sure to hide her blushing cheeks.
Oh, how much had she missed not having a tan over her pale skin, that clearly didn’t cope with her in the detaining disappointment.
“I asked you something?” Henry inquired, bending her head slightly low and looking down at Emilia’s face, who was – after a very good while of staring at him – now ironically stealing her gaze from him.
“Sorry?” she asked back, looking anywhere in the room but his face.
She kept her eyes low, looking down at his chest and it was quite eerie for Henry, who certainly thought of Emilia to be sort of mentally incapable.
“Are you done setting up the room? You must be here to set up the board room?”
She nodded her head at him.
“Yes! I am just done.”
She took a step ahead and the pump of her heel, landed directly over the pencil that she had rolled down previously.
The pencil slipped and rolled down, right underneath her feet, making her stumble forward but once again Henry was quick enough to hold out his arms for her that she took in as a support, as she landed right in to his arms.
“Oh s**t! I am sorry.” She immediately pulled herself back and up, but it was not that quick enough and she was still able to get a whiff of his intoxicating, strong and spicy cologne.
A man that wears a good perfume – one of Emilia’s biggest turn ons.
Gosh! The hell is wrong with me? Why am I acting this way, like a s*x deprived wanton? Is he really that gorgeous or am I just desperate?
She once again, shook away each and every connoting thought and looked down at the pencil placed on the ground, that had become the cause of her distress.
“I will pick it up.” She told him, as she bent down to pick up the pencil, having only one thought clouding her mind that who was the man, after all.
But all of her thoughts dissipated in to thin air, just as she bent down to pick up the pencil; the very threads of her skirt, holding the skirt together, from the side of Emilia’s hip, felt pressurized due to her actions and ripped apart, creating a huge ripping sound at once.
Henry who was walking towards his seat, held himself back for a moment, touching the arms and thighs of his clothes and wondering if it was him who ripped or shred a piece or two, which was a very usual thing for him to do, given to his bulging muscles but once he was satisfied that it wasn’t him, after checking his coat and pants thoroughly, he realized that if it isn’t him, who ripped his clothes off, it could only mean one thing.
He turned around to look at Emilia, who sat in sheer horror, her eyes bulged out of her sockets, as cold air hit the side of her upper thigh and it was not a surprise for her anymore, over what had happened.
She had actually ripped her skit apart in to shreds, from over the right side and the cut ran, all the way up towards the waist, where the waist band, was holding the skirt over her body for dear life.
“oh!” Henry pointed out towards Emilia’s skirt, which also made her look down and finally realized the gravity of the situation and notice the fact that the skirt was ripped apart entirely and exposed a major part of her leg.
She immediately got up, grabbing a notepad and placing it down on her ripped skirt, which due to its skimpy nature, moved sideways, revealing her entire leg till upwards.
“No! no! no…” Emilia screamed in horror, unable to fathom and grasp the entire situation and as if things hadn’t been bad for her already, the door to the board room opened up and the shook on Henry’s face turned in to clear amusement, as he saw the entire board of executives of the magazine standing right in the front of the door, watching with their own bare eyes, at what was going on inside the meeting room.
“Haven’t you fixed the…?”
Stephanie stepped ahead to ask Emilia, regarding to her duties but paused when she saw her standing there and her skirt and trying to cover up her leg with one hand and holding a notepad over her exposed thigh with the other hand.
Emilia’s heart was exploded inside her chest, rendering her confused, scared and entirely paralyzed.
She saw her entire life flash right in front of her eyes and pictures herself on the very verge of embarrassment.
She looked at each and every one’s face, who was looking between her face and her mere attempt at trying to cover up, at what was clearly an accidental ripping of her skirt.
Something that Marina, already found quite comical, as a sly smirk rested on her face, whilst the rest of the men inside the room, were only enjoying the view of a woman’s exposed skin, including Sam himself, who for a second was stunned at the beauty of the woman that stood in front of him.
He was the kind of the man to never go for a woman that he dubbed to be too pretty for his own good but Emilia did seem someone that was beautiful yet approachable and in the entire plastic environment of the office, he somehow found himself looking at a natural beauty right in front of him but that wasn’t what he was truly concerned about.
The horror on Emilia’s face told a very clear story and the way she moved sideways, was enough to tell everyone that she was trying to hide her ripped skirt.
Hannah grunted lowly under her breath and it was enough of a sign for Marina to tell that she was not in the mood to wait any longer for the meeting to start, as she was already quite pissed off at Henry’s previously rude behavior of going inside the board room without waiting for anyone else.
“What is…?” Marina stepped ahead to reprimand Emilia for her sluggish behavior but Henry was the first one to actually daunt her.
“Can you not, see?” he told her, immediately making her shut up.
His rude tone, was enough for Hannah to raise an eyebrow and be immensely and clearly alerted by the fact that Henry was going to be a challenge to deal with in the office.
Emilia was rendered ashamed and embarrassed but she also realized that she needed to pull herself up.
“Can you guys turn your faces around?” Henry asked everyone else in the room, who realized that they might be crossing a line, bit too much with staring constantly at Emilia’s flashed legs.
“Yeah… I guess…” Sam suggested, turning back towards the men from the finance and graphics team and asking them to turn around and look away as well.
But it was no time for Emilia to waste, it was now or never for her.
Henry turned towards her, taking off his coat and both Marina and Hannah, were stirred with the very confusion, over why was Henry being so nice towards an intern.
Even he didn’t know why he was doing so, maybe simply out of humility but before he was able to give it to Emilia, she had already focused her eyes on the doorway, that was very clear for her to take and just as Henry extended his coat towards her, she screamed, dashing right out of the room, pushing past even Henry, who had his own coat fly right over his face, blinded by what had just happened and everyone in the room was also left bewildered, as Emilia rushed out of the room in a flash, squealing and screaming sheer embarrassment.
Once reaching near the elevator, she even pushed past Lily, who was holding Henry’s phone, bumping in to her shoulder and making her drop the phone on the ground.
Lily immediately bent down and picked up the phone, mortified to look at the cracked screen.
“s**t!” she screamed, looking at Emilia’s shadow, as she rushed towards corridor and finally entered the empty elevator, pressing the close button again and again, until she was finally stranded alone inside the elevator.
She perched down on the floor of the lift, grabbing her head in her hands, realizing that it was finally the end of her career at the Monger and even if it wasn’t; there was no way she would ever be coming back to that place, after what had happened with her.
