Flashing her ID on the barcode panel, Emilia walked ahead once the steal barricades in front of her lifted and she walked ahead towards her office.
She kept her hair open, using it as a mask to shield her face from being recognized by everyone inside the office building.
She didn’t know if the news of her ripping her skirt off during the meeting had gone ballistic in the entire building just yet or not but it was before the weekend and people in the entire building, even though belonging to different offices, mingled, unlike her.
It was ironic but she worked for a gossip magazine where everyone was a Monger and loved to share good saucy stories. She didn’t know who it would be but someone in that room had to be the whistle blower on her and reveal it to everyone, in one of the parties that they must have had during the weekend, about what had occurred with Emilia in front of the big guns of her office.
She made her way towards the elevator and entered inside it. She made sure keep her head low as she entered inside the elevator and pushed herself at the back of it, keeping her face turned away, wanting to stay hidden.
Only three people were present in the large elevator when she got inside it. She may have earned a look or two, since she wasn’t dressed her usual.
Her friend Andy, who worked as a marketing manager for an online clothes retailing business, had lent, actually forced her to wear a pair of formal pants and a formal shirt, which this time luckily was of her size.
Andy suggested her to not to go weak and go back to wearing her old bizzare and baggy clothes, after listening to the debacle that had occurred with Emilia. She suggested that if she wanted to be taken seriously at her work place, she needed to be dressed accordingly. Well, Andy was going to say so, since she was someone who was always up to mark when it came to her style and also her brother was gay and scrutinized her style since she was two, so she grew up dressing up pretty and bedazzlingly.
Emilia kept her face away from everyone, not wanting to be recognized by any.
Usually, the elevators only stopped at the floors to deport off the people who rode it and since she saw that only three people were present, she hoped that they all belonged to the same floor and once the elevator did stop by the fifth floor, the three did get off and Emilia tilted her neck slightly and saw that the elevator was empty, which made her sigh in relief and turned back around towards the door of the elevator.
But her anxiety hadn’t settle so far, since the biggest obstacle for her was to face everyone at her place.
She was the intern who dressed up lazy and now she would become the intern who almost undressed herself in front of the hot CEO and other biggies.
The very flashing memory of the CEO brought crimson shade to her cheeks, making her feel flushed and suddenly making her sweat heavens, as her body rushed with gushing warm blood and her skin felt set on fire, remembering the moment that guy grabbed her body and held her closely and gently. She had never felt so much spark and enticement ever generated by her body as much as she did because of that one particular person.
She shook her head, trying to rewire her brain, as she reminded herself that he was her boss, the owner of the rat magazine that she was working for and she hated that place and needed to move on from it, as soon as she got a better opportunity.
As her elevator rode up to the twentieth floor, she stood in silence, cranking up the energy inside her mind over how she was going to deal with the situation and how she was going to take everything lightly and joke around with everyone in the office, in case or most definitely when everyone would try to poke fun of her for the little innuendo that had occurred before the weekend.
She was sure that many people must have laughed after she left or more appropriately if worded – stormed out of the office and didn’t come back. Well, how could she? She was practically flashing her ass if she was not even holding the back fabric of the skirt next to the front side, since the stitches had given up.
But she had to still face everyone since, she was practically broke and didn’t have any other better option but to tolerate the superficial and mockery life at The Monger.
the elevator suddenly took a pause at the tenth floor and Emilia felt startled, looking at the door open up and right in front of her stood the man that she’d have many flashy dreams about, ever since she saw his electrifying blue eyes.
Henry Christopher – her CEO and the source of her embarrassing feelings.
She wasn’t much flustered about embarrassing herself in front of everyone but was direly concerned about what he thought of her, after the incident since she had practically flashed her thong to him.
She gasped, holding her breath inside her lungs and immediately turned away, not wanting him to see her face.
She felt paralyzed and brain dead, shaking with fear of anticipation, wondering how it would go if he saw her.
She was the least person, being an intern to ever interact with the CEO but she guessed that her luck wasn’t much on her side and she also assumed that she was hated by the angel who were responsible for deciding and declaring her luck.
“Sure! Send me an email about it and do not forget to add more details and would love to hear more about that yacht party of yours.” Henry laughed walking in to the elevator with his head turned towards the door. He shifted his body back and stood erect facing the door and smiled and waved, with one hand inside his pocket and other holding a Styrofoam cup of coffee, gently shaking at the other man in the crisp suit on the other side of the door.
Once the elevator doors closed, Emilia felt entrapped, having no way to get out of the situation.
