What do you feel when you are standing in front of your new home since you have moved twice this year? Happy because of the new environment or sad because you have to start over again? Well this is the situation of our family over the last four years because of my parents' work.
Mother is a famous model in US, Europe and some part of Asia while my father is a well-known photographer. Actually they are working together in modeling industry. Their job is very demanding and required us to move from place to place.
At first, you would think it was a great experience because you were given an opportunity to visit some places and meet various types of people. But this kind of living force me to leave all my friends behind and went away with a broken heart.
"Elizabeth get your things," the voice of my mother ripped through the silence and pulled me out of my trance. I took a deep breath before opening the back seat of the car and took my bags and laptop. "And follow us inside," they entered into our new home.
"Yes Mom." I said to no one. My fingers tucked my slattering hair behind my ears as I listen to the whisper of rustling leaves in air while walking towards the house. There many flowers scattered on the ground and many trees are surrounded the house. The porch in front is really spacious and there is an outdoor living area in back.
"This house is actually much better than our last," Father mumbled once I got inside the house. He put all the boxes down the floor and sighed . "Perfect for me to concentrate,"
The inside presents an open-concept layout with a snack bar at the kitchen for relaxed entertaining. Two sets of French doors open the great room to the rear porch. On the left side of the home, a flex space can become a playroom, office, craft space, or just about anything else.
"A great place to relax," Mother agreed and she turned around to face me. "Eliza-Lily. Don't forget you have school on Monday. Jon already fixed your papers so you can attend the half in your senior year,"
Mentioning school is not helping me feel better but it makes me more depressed and anxious. How can I adjust in class in the middle of the school year? Yes, I know I'm smart but it does not mean I can easily adapt in my study. Honestly, I just want to get over this high school life so I could move on and be free.
It seems like mother felt the trouble in my heart. "We are sorry Lily if you have to leave your friends behind again," she gave me a comforting hug. "Soon we will settle down, live like a normal family and you will have a forever friends,"
Now I feel bad and guilty. I should have been more considerate about their hard work and sacrifices so they could give me everything I need in life.
"Once we are done with this contract Lily," it was my father. "We will stop moving,"
"I understand you guys," the only word I said.
Mother kissed the top of my head. "Go check your room,"
I did not say anything but did what she told. My jaw fell hard on the floor by the sight of the flavorful and very modern interior of the house here in the second floor. There are three master suites with impressive deluxe bathroom and walk in closet. But did you know what I really like? It is the moving glass wall you choose depends in part on the effect you want to achieve when open and closed — an especially important decision if you want to maximize great views. In the closed position, folding doors have more vertical stiles due to the panel width limitation; therefore, they impose greater view obstruction when compared to sliding doors. Sliding doors allow for larger panels, which results in fewer vertical posts and more unobstructed views.
My mother's manager already fix everything here so we did not have to buy anything. I did not noticed the time past because I was busy preparing my clothes and placed inside the cabinet, chatting my friends in my laptop and listening in music.
"Lily!" Mother was calling me outside my bedroom. I turned off the music player. "We are going out to eat, come on,"
"Yes Mom!" I hurried up to take my jacket and get out of the room. Actually, I was really hungry but because my parents were busy I have waited for them to finished fixing their things.
"Do you want to eat some Japanese food?" Father asked me when I got inside the car while Mom is locking the house. "I want sushi with a wasabe!" My father and I both loved Japanese cuisine especially the sushi while Mother is more into italian. "What do you think?"
"Yes dad with tempura and california maki," I added making my stomach growled.
Mother came and gave us a tired smile. No wonder why at the age of 40 Mother is still has a lot of suitors because her beauty is timeless. "Let's go! I'm starving,"
"Father said we are going to eat Japanese food,"
"Whatever you guys wants, I'm okay with it," Mother said, chuckling.
"Let's attack the Japanese restaurant then!" Father screamed in excitement. "And eat all their food!"
My parents are talkig about their job while I was looking for something inside the car. I sigh in relief when I saw my precious book on the car's floor. I thought I had lost it.
Just so you know, I'm a bookworm, reading is my heart and soul. Lately I have been reading one of the popular, trending My love From The Star. This story is based in real life of the Author, of how she was lost and found someone who changed her life completely.
It did not took awhile when we arrived at the Japanese restaurant. There are many people inside and mostly recognized my mother since she is a very popular model in the country. People come and go for a picture or autograph with mother while father and I are looking in the menu.
"I'm sorry," Mother whispered apologetically when the last person who asked her for a picture left. "I thought we can eat normally here,"
"Let them be honey," Father said and held my mother's hand. "Don't worry I will cook tomorrow,"
Well my father loves cooking and he is not only the man of the house but the kitchen. He is blessed with so many talent aside from photography.
"That is very good idea. I miss your cooking," Mother told him sweetly.
While listening to them, I noticed someone is really familiar to me. "My gosh!"
"Hey," Father grabbed my hand in confusion when I hastily stood up. "What happened?"
I jerkey my attention away from a certain person inside the restaurant and concentrated at my parents. "My favorite Author is here!" without really thinking I grabbed my book and went to her table. "You are Ms. Hera Parker right?"
The beautiful woman in front of me slowly lifted her head up. She is gracefully chewing her food. I have waited for her to swallow the food and drink some water before answering me.
"Yes," oh gosh even her voice is so beautiful. "I'm Hera Parker," her green eyes were sparkling like a glamorous sapphire in the sky.
"I- I-" I croacked. Finally I saw my favorite Author in person then I remember my book. "Can you please sign my book? I'm your avid fan!"
"Sure," the Author said. My hand is shaking when I handed her the book. "What is your name?" her eyes never left my face.
"Elizabeth Andersen," I replied proudly. My favorite Author smiled as I watched her hand is moving and started writing.
"Baby," another beautiful woman appeared next to me. She was looking at my favorite Author. "Let's go,"
"Okay Mia," Hera whispered still writing. Then she dropped her pen and gave the book back to me with a sweet smile on her face. "Thank you so much for reading my book. I hope it inspired and give you some lesson in life,"
I looked down at my book then back to Hera's beautiful face. "Yes you have," a smile crept on my face."Sometimes you have to learned something from someone else life,"
The beautiful Author wordlessly stood up. "Anyway," she turned her attention back to the woman beside me. "Mia are you ready?" Hera held Mia's hand.
"As always," the woman next to me spoke. There are looking at each other with a smile on their face. You could see the the live through their eyes.
"We need to go Elizabeth," Hera said to me. "I'm so happy to meet you,"
"No please," I told her gratfully while clutching my book against my chest. "The pleasure is really mine," the Author looked at me over her shoulder before they finally left.
"Lily!" Father called. "The food is here!" I returned to our table with so much happiness in me. "Is she the popular Author of that book?"
"Yes dad! I did not expect to see her here in all places!" I could not contain my excitement. "She is so beautiful!"
"She is," Mother agreed. "Today we can't really tell who were straight and lesbian," I felt her gaze on my face. "Right honey?"
"Right," I chuckled. My parents knew I'm lesbian and they accepted me. For them gender should have not be an issue in every family. "Excuse I will just go to the restroom,"
The restroom is clean and empty when I came in. While I was inside the cubicle I heard the door slammed and there were footsteps and mufling sounds.
"Stop it," someone cried.
"Sshh. Shut up Aerin! You like this right? then.." there is a paused. "I will f**k you!"
I shook my head in disbelief but before they could do anything else. I opened the cubicle's door and got out. There are two girls kissing but they broke apart when they saw me. My face grew hot and ignored them but I noticed one of the girl stared hard on me until I left the restroom.
