Amar's birthday is in three days and I haven't figured out what we have to do for his birthday this year. I don't even know if he'll want to celebrate it because of what happened last year when he found his mate.
I mean what if this birthday make him remember everything and be miserable again. I hate to see him suffer, he's an outgoing person.
He is always smiling and laughing that it is so easy to notice when something is wrong. I'm thinking what if I make the arrangements for his party and he doesn't want to celebrate?
This is going to be a mess. I wish someone will just tell me what to do. Maybe we can even go on a trip again.
"Penny for your thoughts?" I heard a voice behind me. I turned around to see that it was him. Speak of the devil.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in music class?" I asked him.
"Are you not supposed to be happy seeing your favourite friend with you?" He asked me smiling.
"Correction: my only friend. And to answer your question, yes I am happy but still, you're supposed to be in class"
"I was but then the teacher was not there. We waited for fifteen minutes and then we decided to leave. I also wanted to ask you if we can go somewhere for my birthday. I just want to be somewhere. I spent most of my time here nursing my broken heart that it will kill me to be around here this year again. If I do then most of the memories will come back, tormenting me. Please? I promise it's gonna be fun and we'll be gone for three to five days top." He gave me puppy dog eyes. He's unfair. He knows I won't be able to refuse him if he gives me that look. I sigh out loud.
"You are not playing fair you know that right? You know I can't refuse you when you make that pretty face." I said slapping his arm.
"Nothing is fair in love and war." He said laughing at me. "And I don't have a pretty face. I'm not a girl dude. Guys are handsome, not pretty."
"Whatever. You don't have to worry though because you just gave me an idea. You know I was out here thinking about your birthday. I just thought you wouldn't want to go somewhere since it will remind you of last year's events but if you want us to take a vacation then that's fine by me. I was thinking of Canada or California. Though since it's your birthday I think you should decide. Just not India." I said giving him an amused look. Going to India has been his dream or so he says. He's never been there even though he's Indian.
"Dude I want to go to India. Just not for my birthday ok? I can go there anytime I want once I'm done with school. I just want to explore the country, learn about everything I want but only when I have time. I won't be able to do that in three days. Stop making fun of it. We can go to California for my birthday. I've been meaning to go there for a while now. I want to see the United States."
"Ok, then it is settled. California it is. I'll make all the arrangements and book our flights." I don't know why but I feel drawn there. It's like something is calling for me there. I was going to be disappointed if Amar chose Canada because I never wanted to go there in the first place.
I just didn't want him to feel like I'm taking decisions even though it is his own birthday. I was brought back to reality by him when he told me that we had to go to the next class. Once we were done with school I went home. I almost fell to the ground as soon as I entered the house.
I lowered my gaze to see the source of my loss of balance and I was met with two beautiful green-eyed girls. My sisters. Identical twins.
"Hey, you two," I said kneeling to be on their level. They seem happy.
"Hi, brother. We missed you." Emily said hugging me. Or was it Emma? I don't know. Sometimes I feel like I'm unable to identify which one is Emma or Emily. Don't blame me, they look the same. And when I say the same I mean everything. I hugged both of them.
"We've been waiting for you for two hours," Emma said, I think it's her. She said holding up two fingers. They are four years old but they act like teenagers sometimes.
"I see, my little sisters have learned how to read the time. I'm impressed. You have to teach me." I smiled at them.
"Mom taught us. We've been looking at the time since then. Ask her to teach you." They smiled at me, pointing at my mom coming from the kitchen.
"I see they've already told you how long they've been waiting for you. They wanted to tell you what they learned today. Your father is already tired of them telling him the time every minute. I just made lunch. Go and put your bag in your room and come to eat."
"Thank you, mom. I also want to talk to you about something if you have time."
"That's okay. Just make it quick because I have a meeting with the Luna of our neighbouring pack, the Blood Moon pack."
"Ok, mom I'll be down soon."
"Where is Amar by the way?"
"I left him at school. He's playing soccer. They are tryouts today so I think he wants to make the team."
"Ok then."
I went upstairs to my room to change into simple shorts and a loose top and then I came downstairs to eat lunch.
"Why are you guys having a late lunch anyway?" I asked as we sat there eating.
"I was having back to back meetings. You know these Luna responsibilities and my business are going to kill me at this young age. I also want some time to myself."
"Mom you don't need to overwork yourself. You have employees. Let them do most of the job. You're paying them enough already. How does dad feel about it?" I asked her.
"Well, you know your father. He tells me every day to just sell my business and you know I won't. I love it and I'd hate to sell it and then someone destroys it to the ground. And besides, I'm doing this so that You and your siblings don't have to worry about working when you finish school. Your future will be planned out already."
"Mom that's not necessary. You're doing a very excellent job of raising us already. Besides, you know I won't be lazing around as soon as I turn 18. I'm going to be taking the Alpha position from dad. As for having our future planned out, that job has been done already. Father made sure of it. I don't know about Emma and Emily but I know Connor hates the idea of doing nothing. He will want to start his own company from scratch. That's how he is. My baby brother has always loved the idea of starting his own empire." I told her giving her an assuring smile. She works all the time and she still has time to spend with us and dad too. She just doesn't have time for herself. I doubt she even remembers what she used to love before all this happened.
"That's okay sweetheart. I guess I'll have to slow down a bit. As for the Luna duties, your father is hoping that you meet your mate before you turn 18 and that is in three months. I'm also hoping for that too. In that way, I can have time for myself and I can take your father on a vacation. It's been a long time since we had time to ourselves. I just want him to myself for a month at least." She said blushing.
"Ew, mom I don't need to know all of that. And you are even blushing."
"What? You'll find your mate and you'll understand everything. For now, I don't blame you." She said laughing at me.
"Whatever."
