                              Alpha Roman Black’s P.O.V

  I was such an i***t, I had finally figured out where she had been hiding all this time and I couldn't believe how close it was. It was a huge oak tree in the woods right by my pack house. She had been this close for all this time and I didnt even have a clue, I could never find her, until now. I also learned from the Alpha rogue that she had been going to a wolf pack, probably for protection and I also remembered why the Moonstone pack was so familiar to me. It was Alpha Rick’s pack and I thought that when I killed his parents and his brother that it would make him weak, but instead he grew stronger and so did his pack. I didn't know at the time that he had a sister or I would have killed her too, but now Hope is in his pack. I’m going to need to get those rogues to help me once more, but I wonder how much I will have to pay this time because they never do anything for free and threatening them is no good, not if I want to get the job done right without them turning on me and warning them. I still needed to scout the area to make sure she was really there and there was only one person stupid enough to do what I asked without becoming suspicious and that was my cousin Brad.

  “Brad, get your ass in here, I need you to do me a favour.” I said, mind-linking him and cut the link before he could reply. Twenty minutes later Brad came to my office, looking annoyed.

  “What do you want, man? I’ve got things to do and your probably only calling me in here for something stupid.” Brad asked, sitting down in the chair in front of my desk. He was right, I always called him in here for the dumbest of things, but I didn't care I was the Alpha and he would do as I say.

  “I need you to go to the Moonstone Pack, Alpha Rick’s pack and watch for a white werecat. I’ve seen her a few times and I think that she is my mate, but she's been going to that pack for safety. If I know for sure that she's there then I can go and get her to keep her safe. She must be running from something, to go to that pack.” I replied and Brad looked confused.

  Brad’s P.O.V

  Roman was such a jerk, I don't even know how he was still Alpha or why he was for that matter, he was always asking for the dumbest of things and lying about why he wanted them. I listened to his request and I knew straight away that he was lying. I knew who he was talking about, but had he seriously forgotten that I was here when Hope was? I never spoke to her, but I still knew about her and I was here when she first shifted. I had watched her running and jumping around here, but I also knew my cousin and I knew that his intentions were just a lie. He only wanted Hope to use her, he would do anything to win battles, so I decided to play along to see where this was going and what else he was going to lie about.

  “Alright, if she is your mate I’ll go, but I’ll go tonight and see what's going on. I’ll make sure if she's there or not. Is there anything else?” I asked and Roman shook his head.

  “No, just make sure that she's not being hurt, that's all.” Roman replied and I rolled my eyes, getting up and leaving his office. I need to somehow warn Hope that he knows where she is. As the night went on I shifted into my cat and ran into the woods. I already knew where Alpha Rick’s pack was because my mate was there. We had both decided to keep it a secret to keep her safe from Roman. I ran all the way to the border of Alpha Rick’s territory and when I got there Kimmie was waiting for me. She saw the look in my eyes and her face immediately changed to one of concern.

  “What is it? What's wrong, Brad? Is everything okay?” Kimmie asked, looking worried.

  “Alpha Roman knows that Hope is here and he wanted me to come here to confirm it.” I replied, shaking my head and Kimmie’s eyes went wide with fear.

  “But Brad, Rick and Hope already mated and marked each other, we all felt it. She is our Luna now and if he comes here the war will be on. I can't fight you, I won't do it.” Kimmie said and I pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back to comfort her.

  “Maybe you won't have to, do you think that Rick is awake?” I asked, making her look at me confused.

  Kimmie’s P.O.V

  There was no way I could ever fight against Brad, he was my mate and I could never hurt him, like he could never hurt me. This was a huge mess and I had no idea how I could get Brad away from his pack.

  “I don't know, he might be, but we do have a lot of stuff being delivered tomorrow. Give me a few seconds and I’ll mind-link him to see if he will come.” I replied and closed my eyes to begin the mind-link.

  “Rick, are you awake? If you are, can you come to the edge of the territory? Brad needs to talk to you.” I said, mind-linking him and waited for his reply.

  “Yeah, I’m awake, I’ll be there shortly. Is everything okay?” Rick asked, mind-linking me back.

  “Not really, can you bring Hope with you as well, this concerns her.” I replied and ended the link.

  “He's on his way and he's bringing Hope with him.” I said and Brad held me even tighter.

  “I won't ever let anything happen to you, I promise.” Brad said, kissing my forehead.

  Brad’s P.O.V

  There was no way in hell I was going to let Roman come between us, I wasn't going to let him hurt my mate or anyone else from this pack. I was trying to reassure Kimmie when suddenly we heard limbs breaking and we both turned around to find Hope and Rick standing behind us, watching us.

  “Brad, what are you doing here? Roman doesnt know I’m here does he?” Hope asked and I sighed.

  “Yeah, he does. He sent me here to watch you and confirm that you are here. He won't stop until you are back in his pack. From what I have heard he is planning on mating and marking you, he wants to make you have his kits and then he’s going to kill you. I’ve also heard that he is planning on using you for wars. I came here to not only warn you, but also because Kimmie is my mate, we’ve been hiding it from Roman because if he found out he would do anything in his power to stop it.” I replied and while Rick growled, pulling a shocked Hope closer to him.

  “You will not go back there. Brad, you need to link him and tell him that rogues are after you, tell him that you can't hold them off and then break the link. You belong with this pack now and you are more than welcome to stay here. Do it now.” Alpha Rick said and I quickly nodded.

  “Yes Alpha.” I happily replied. My eyes glazed over as I started the link.

  “ROMAN! ROMAN ARE YOU THERE!!! I CAN'T MIND-LINK MUCH, I'M RUNNING!!!” I shouted, mind-linking Roman. I wanted it to sound like I was in trouble and that I was desperate. I waited for a few minutes and opened my mind up to Alpha Rick and Hope.

  “Brad, why are you running? You should be there by now, so what's taking you so long? Why are you shouting?” Roman replied, mind-linking me back.

  “BECAUSE ASSHOLE, ROGUES ARE AFTER ME!! I CAN'T HOLD THEM OFF!! COME HELP ME!!” I shouted, but this time I heard him laughing through the link.

  “You never were a fast runner or a good fighter. You're on your own.” Roman replied and I quickly cut the link. I cut all ties with Roman and his pack, making him think that the rogues had caught me and that I was now dead.

  “Well, it's done. I cut the link and all ties with him, so he now thinks I’m dead.” I said to Alpha Rick and he nodded.

  “Come on, let's get back to the house. Tomorrow you will be sworn into the pack and you can train to become one of our warriors.” Alpha Rick replied and I nodded. I took Kimmie’s hand on mine and felt so grateful that we didn't have to hide anymore. We could finally be a normal couple, normal mates and it was the best thing in the world.
