Chapter 10: VIP SUIT

Didi was resting on her hospital bed with her eyes closed. If you weren't there, you would think she was sleeping. Selene looked at her beautiful sister and smiled. "Hey, little sis, I have to go to work soon. But I'll be back to visit you later, okay?" Selene whispered in her ear. Didi opened her eyes. "Okay, big sis, I love you. Don't worry about Doris and her useless friends when I leave this hospital. I will deal with them myself," Didi said with a determined look on her face. Selene smiled and touched her sister's smooth and soft hair. "Big sister, thanks for taking care of me. Emilia's been great too," Didi said happily and stood up to hug Selene. Selene smiled. "Of course, little sis! That's what family is for. And don't worry, Emilia will stay with you until I get back." Emilia smiled. "Yeah, I've got this, Selene. Go take care of your work, we've got this covered," Emilia said happily. Selene said gently, "Thanks, Emilia. I owe you one." Emilia pointed at her and said playfully, "Here you come again." Selene shut her mouth and used her hand to give a zipping gesture, and they all laughed. Selene gave her sister a gentle hug and a kiss on the forehead, then headed out of the hospital room, feeling grateful for Emilia's support. With a mix of emotions—worry for her sister, gratitude for Emilia, and determination to get through her workday—Selene headed to the 5-star hotel to start her shift for the day. Upon arriving at the hotel, Selene takes a deep breath and puts on her uniform, ready to face the day ahead. She clocks in and begins her rounds, cleaning rooms and restocking linens with precision and care. As she works, she can't help but think about her sister and the long road to recovery ahead. She pushes the thoughts aside and focuses on her tasks, determined to make her sister proud and show her that she's strong enough to handle everything on her own. Just as Selene is finishing up a particularly challenging room, her supervisor, Mrs. Jenkins, approaches her. "Selene, great job as always! I've got a special request for you. The VIP suite needs extra attention today. Can you take care of it?" Selene nods and says, "Of course, Mrs. Jenkins! I'm on it!" With a sense of pride and purpose, Selene heads to the VIP suite, ready to give it her all and make sure it shines, making the VIP customer happy and comfortable. As Selene enters the VIP suite, she's struck by its opulence. She begins cleaning with precision, ensuring that every surface sparkles. While dusting the mantle, she notices a peculiar object - a small, exquisite music box. She winds it up, and a beautiful melody fills the room. Just as she finishes cleaning, Selene looks around, smiling and admiring the luxurious and beautiful suite. Just then, the suite's door opens, and Lugard walks in, his eyes fixed on his phone. He's the VIP guest, and his cold demeanor sends a shiver down Selene's spine. "Get out," he says curtly, not even looking up to acknowledge the person behind the bedside table. Selene is shocked to see Lugard. Her heart sinks as she recognizes the man she once knew. "Lugard?" she screams in her heart, her voice barely above a whisper but there are no words to respond. She just stood there, unmoving. Lugard's eyes flicked up as the cleaner remained still. He raised his cold, black eyes and locked them onto Selene's. There was no recognition, no hint of warmth. "What are you still standing there for?" he asked brusquely. Selene's eyes widened, hurt by his indifference. "It's me, Selene, the girl you saved years ago," she screamed in her heart, but she didn't voice it out. Kaiden's expression remained icy. "Get out," he said coldly. Selene felt like she'd been slapped. His coldness cut through her like a knife. As she left the suite, tears prickled at the corners of her eyes. She couldn't believe the guy who saved her, whom she once knew, could be so cruel, so unrecognizable. Selene's eyes met Lugard's, but there was no spark of recognition. No hint of remembrance. It was as if she was a stranger to him. "Get out," he repeated, his voice firm but detached. Selene felt a pang in her heart. This was the man who had saved her all those years ago, the man she had idolized and cherished in her memories. But now, he didn't even recognize her. "Lugard," she ventured, her voice soft and hesitant. "It's me, Selene. We met...." Lugard's gaze narrowed, his eyes scanning her face as if searching for something. But there was no flicker of recognition, no hint of remembrance. "I don't know you and I have never met someone like you," he said finally, his voice cold and detached. Selene's heart sank, a mix of emotions swirling inside her. She had held onto the memory of their encounter for so long, had cherished it like a precious gem. But now, it seemed like that moment meant nothing to him. With a heavy heart, Selene turned and left the suite, the music box still clutched in her hand. She couldn't help but wonder if she had meant anything to him at all back then. After finishing her schedule, Selene left the hotel, her mind still reeling from the encounter with Lugard. She couldn't understand why he had forgotten her, why he didn't recognize her at all. As she walked home, she felt a sense of sadness wash over her. She had held onto the memory of their encounter for so long, had cherished it like a precious gem. But now, it seemed like that moment meant nothing to him. She bought groceries and prepared food as usual before heading to the hospital. At the hospital, her mood was very low and she wore a sad expression. Didi and Emilia became worried. "Lisa, what's wrong? Why is your mood so low?" Emilia asked, tapping her on the shoulder. Didi also looked at Selene with a concerned expression. "Big sis, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Didi asked. "I'm okay," Selene replied, nodding her head. "Then what happened? Who made your mood so low like this?" Emilia asked, gazing at Lisa's face seriously. "Nothing happened, it's just that I saw Philip Lugard today. He came and checked into our hotel too. I didn't know and our manager called me, saying that the VIP suite needed extra attention and that I should go and take care of it." I went and did my job as usual, and when I was done the VIP person came. Didi and Emilia's hearts raced as they looked at Selene's body, immediately thinking that she had been raped. Worry washed over them. Why didn't you break his head or gush out his eyes, Didi said in furry. You should have kicked or torn his d**k, Emilia said angrily how dare he touch you. They both screamed angrily and Didi even cried. Selene seemed possessed, with a confused expression. "Who should I break his head? Who should I gouge out his eyes? And who am I kicking in the d**k?" "That stupid fool that touched you," Emilia said with a fiery glare. "Who touched me? Did I ever say that?" Selene asked. Didi and Emilia looked at each other in confusion. "But the VIP person you just mentioned," Didi pointed out. Selene continued, "The VIP person turned out to be Lugard. He looked at me coldly and asked me to leave immediately after he entered the room. He didn't recognize me, and when I tried to make him remember me, he said that he had never met someone like me," Selene said with a dim and sad expression.
