First Day pt. 2

**Elijah's POV** Scarlett walked out of the room, my sister practically dragging her away. I suddenly felt like a part of me was missing, and I wanted to go after her and pull her to my side again. Scarlett was wrapping me around her little finger and I doubt she even realized it. Since I had taken over as Alpha, I have not slept that hard. Never have I missed an early morning training session unless I was away on business. I had an internal clock that woke me up every morning between four and five. To wake up to the sun shining and a beautiful woman next to me was perfect. I could still smell her vanilla scent on me and it pleased me and my wolf.  I quickly dressed in a pale grey suit and white shirt along with smoke grey tie. I had things to handle, but first, Dr. Fills. I walked to the first floor and into my office just across from the kitchen. I greeted Dr. Fills. "Good morning. Would you like some breakfast or coffee?"  "No thank you, Alpha." He declined. "So, what can I do for you today?" I leaned back in my chair and relaxed. "Well word should have gotten around by now that I have returned with my bride." He nodded and congratulated me. "I have also brought with her, her grandmother. She has been weak and I would like to know why. Something else that should be kept strictly between you and I is that she is a witch."  "Alpha!" "I do not fear her Dr. Fills. Trust me if she was a dark witch then she would have not revealed herself to me and risked herself and her granddaughter. This will stay between you and I doctor. Not even my father could know." I said firmly and he nodded.  "Yes, Alpha. You have my word." He bowed his head.  "Good. Now come with me and I shall introduce you to Miss Josephine. Like I said, Patrick, there is no reason to fear her." I said as I stood from my chair.  I led him out of my office and down the hall to where the few guest rooms were. I put Josephine in the best one, seeing as she will be living here for a while. I could hear giggling and laughing and my heart ached to see her smile. I felt her so close, and yet she was not close enough. I knocked and opened the door slightly.  Scarlett was sitting at her grandmother's side, Travis was looking at my sister like he always does form the corner of the room, and Cathy was standing in front of Scarlett. All eyes turned towards us. "Cathy, Travis. Would you mind giving us the room please?" The nodded and left swiftly. The door closed and I walked forward. "Good morning, Josie. This is Dr. Fills." "My, oh my. Yeah I plan on never dying. Every man that comes through that door just gets me old heart pumping." She shimmied a little and we all laughed.  "Hello Miss Josephine. Would you mind if I examined you?" Dr. Fills asked.  "Oh doctor you can examine me anytime. Scarlett dear why don't you and your handsome husband be give me and the doctor here a little privacy?" The doctor and I laughed but Scarlett only paled in embarrassment.  "Granny!" She scolded her.  "It is quite alright." Patrick laughed. He then turned to Scarlett and smiled respectfully. "It is a pleasure to meet the future Luna. Welcome." She shook his hand and smiled shyly. "I do not mind examining your grandmother in private. I promise I will be respectful. I can meet you and Alpha in his office in just a few moments." She nodded and stood up to kiss her granny on the cheek. "Behave you old perv."  I escorted Scarlett towards my office, the whole time fighting the urge to pull her into my side. She looked so damn perfect. Her hair cascading down her back, that dress hugging and accentuating every curve. Asher was pacing in his mind trying to remain calm, but our instincts, our primal need was wanting her so badly. Finally we reached the office and I let her walk in ahead of me. As soon as the door closed something clicked inside of me.  I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her slowly until her back rested against the wood door. Her breathing sped up as her eyes looked into mine. I stood directly in front of her, our bodies only inches away, our lips only breaths apart. My hands rested on either side of her head and I leaned in slowly, resting my head against her shoulder. Then I ever so lightly skimmed my nose along the top of her shoulder, up to the curve of her neck. Her smell was driving me crazy and confusing me. How could I feel so relaxed and grounded, but wild like an animal at the same time?  A breathy moan escaped her lips and I pulled away to look in her eyes. She looked back at me with curiosity and interest, like I fascinated her as well. "Scarlett." I whispered and I saw her legs tighten. Then the smell hit me. Her arousal. I groaned and pushed my body against hers. Her hand pulled at my suit jacket as if I was not close enough to her liking. I wanted to kiss her, but was afraid one kiss would not be enough. "We should stop." I whispered, but her hands wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer, her eyes never leaving mine. "Scarlett." I warned, but she wouldn't listen. "Fuck." I groaned and then leaned down and claimed her lips with mine.  Everything inside of me wanted to devour her, taste every corner of her mouth, and leave my scent on every inch of her body. I wanted any male wolf that came around her to know who she belonged to. But instead I kissed her slow and soft. I didn't want to overwhelm her. I wanted to cherish her. I have decided that I wasn't going to over analyze this anymore, wasn't going to question or wonder. All I knew was that this woman was mine and I was hers. I didn't care the reason.  Her hands wrapped around my neck and pulled me closer to her. She tiptoed and started to try and deepen the kiss. I was only too happy to oblige. I bent down and grabbed her behind her thighs, lifted her up, and braced her against the door. Scarlett wrapped her legs around my waist and giggled. I left her lips and trailed kissed down her jawline to the curve of her neck which earned me a moan from her perfect lips. My wolf started to stir, and I felt my canines elongate. This doesn't happen. Our canines never automatically elongate unless...  (Mate.)  My wolf howled in my head. I was completely taken by surprise and set her down immediately and stepped away. This was impossible but I know what I heard. I know what I feel. The urge to mark and claim her. An urge that no wolf felt anymore. I turned back towards her and immediately wanted to kick myself in the ass. She was looking at the floor embarrassed and probably full of regret. I had put her down and stepped away like I didn't want her, but it was the complete opposite.  "Scarlett-" "I'm fine." She whispered, and started trying to straighten out her appearance.  I stepped forwards but she stepped back and her back hit the door. She still did not look up at me. I stepped closer and slowly and gently held her face in my hands. "It was me. It was nothing you did. My wolf, he was getting harder to control, and I didn't want to move too fast and scare you." I was half telling the truth. I couldn't tell her what my wolf said or I would scare her away. Mates weren't blessed anymore. "I enjoyed every single second just now, I promise." She peaked up at me and I smiled. "I just don't want you to think I am rushing you." She finally nodded and settled herself in my arms. Her head lay on my chest and my arms wrapped around her waist. "That was the perfect first kiss." She whispered.  I looked down at her and smiled like I was a kid who received all the gifts he had asked for on his birthday. "First kiss?" She hid in my chest and nodded. I kissed her on the top of her head and held her tighter. "Hopefully you'll allow me to be the only man you kiss." Our moment was interrupted with a knock at the door. I gave her one last small kiss and told her to get comfortable in one of the chairs. She walked passed me and I opened the door. "Come in, Dr. Fills." I let him pass and then closed the door. When I turned back around I tried not to laugh. "Comfortable?" I asked.  She spun around in my chair and smiled . "Very."  "Please sit, doctor." I gestured to a guest chair and he did so. I went around my desk and stood in front of her. She was still feeling playful. "I know a better seat." I said as I lifted her, sat down, and placed her on my lap. "When you are with me in my office, I don't care who is in here, this is your seat." I whispered in her ear and she shivered. I chuckled lightly and turned back to Patrick. "So, how is she?" "She is actually in good health. I think a proper diet with vitamins and she will be up and around in no time. I fear that someone there was actually weakening her." He said skeptically.  "What do you mean?" Scarlett asked worried.  "I find it odd that a woman of her-" I quickly shook my head to let him know not to say anything just yet. "Of her age and seems to be in good health would be feeling so weak and tired all of the time. Perhaps someone close to her was slipping her something. Of course I am not suggesting it would be you Miss Redd, but was there anyone else who watched over your grandmother?" She shook her head and started to panic. "No, he wouldn't." She mumbled. "He has only looked after us all these years. Since my grandmother showed signs of illness, he had stepped in like a surrogate uncle or something of that sort."  I could feel her pain and anxiety coming off of her in waves and it angered me. I wanted to make whoever done this suffer. "Who was it?" I rubbed up her back hoping to soothe some of her pain. "Tell me and I'll get down to the bottom of it immediately." She turned to me and fought back her tears. "Mayor Henrick."  "Trust me to handle this issue. I promise if it was indeed the Mayor, he will be dealt with accordingly. For now, I want you to try to not worry and have a little fun with Cathy today. Okay?" I kissed her on the back of her hand and mind linked my sister to come to my office immediately. Moments later she came in, but I didn't take my eyes off of Scarlett. "Cathy, take Scarlett and make sure she buys anything her heart desires. Have fun, and keep your mind link open." Scarlett stood up from my lap and walked towards the door and I watched. "Also get her a cell phone." I called out as the door started to close.  I looked back at the doctor and he sighed. "Alpha, I fear that someone in that village know of the grandmother's abilities and therefore know of our future Luna. If they are indeed witches, they are strong. I could smell in her blood a very distinct smell that should not even exist." "What do you mean?" I asked as I leaned forward and rested my elbows on my desk.  "I smell a flower. A flower that only blooms every three thousand years: The Youtan Poluo. It is said that this particular flower can weaken and eventually kill a witch. If she has been feeling ill for two years, it could be because she has been unknowingly exposed to this flower." He explained. "She should already be dead." "Josephine said she grows weak from starting to pass down her powers?" I asked. "But you are saying because she is being poisoned?" "Yes, as stories have been told, only one family member can have the magic as it is passed down and built over the years. However, you do grow weak and you age like a normal human, but you do not diminish and die this quickly. Which leaves me to believe that the smell in her blood is poison." I listened but still had trouble processing it all.  "Looks like the Mayor will be having an unexpected visit."
