Aneela Something shifted in their dynamic after that night. They didn’t talk about it, or addressed it in any way. It was just a silent agreement for peace, an upgrade in the little things that kept them together. Aneela had no idea what it meant or what to think about it. This man, impossible as he was, was becoming the greatest contradiction of her life. Without him, the timed days felt easier to live. With him the nights finally became bearable. He didn’t chase the nightmares, no, after all he was the one who helped create them, but his embrace made it easier to fall asleep after. Roan came to her bed every night.
