Chapter 15 facing our worries

MIA'S POV

As promised Daniel picked me up half hour earlier for work. I've made sandwiches for lunch today so we don't have to leave the company until home time. Daniel just laughed at me saying "we could of ordered in" . But I insisted on bring the lunches I made for us. Daniel then kissed me before I got out the car. We went up to his office and I managed a little better today I was nervous but I continued on through. I think between Daniel and Rosie pep talk last night it helped. Daniel still took my hand until we reached the lift. We then grabbed coffee before settling into the office.

"Was it easier this morning?" Daniel asks

"Yeah I didn't feel so knotted in my stomach" I replied.

"I'm glad to hear, I have a meeting around 10:30am for a hour but I will be back after that, if you need anything Jenny will be outside okay?" Daniel says

"Okay" I say as I set the laptop up to get started for the work day.

"How about I take you on a date Friday night?" Daniel suddenly asks.

"Okay but I will have to go home first to get changed after work" I say quickly stealing a glance at Daniel before going back to my laptop.

"That's fine. I will pick you back up, shall we say 7:30pm?" Daniel asks.

"Okay I will make sure I'm ready for then" I say.

"Where are you taking me?" I ask suddenly wondering what I should wear.

"It's a secret" he says while grinning and winking at me as I look at him.

"A secret this early on?" I say laughing

"Well yeah but it's a good secret because it's a surprise" says Daniel

"That's true, if it was a bad secret I wouldn't care who you are I'd kick your ass big time" I say while also laughing.

"Okay just be ready for 7:30pm" he says.

"I will don't worry" I say.

I open my emails to check them and see that..

Brad Cook has sent me a email from my department titled 'Please Read Me'. I click it open and start to read

Dear Miss Mia Adams

I just wanted to send you a email, to let you know that not everyone in the department are horrible. Some of us are generally nice. All the men are disgusted with the few spiteful women. Not all the women are spiteful some actually let rip at the people who spoke behind your back. When you decide it's time to come back look for me and I can show you who you can trust and who you can't. If anyone gives you any issues you can find me if you can't find Michelle. In the meantime take care.

I didn't expect to see that email this morning. I quickly send a reply

Dear Mr Brad Cook

Thanks for your email. I really appreciate it. I will come back soon when I feel a little more up to it. With everything that's happened in my life lately, I just feel a little deflated. But I have a few good friends helping me through it. In the meantime please take care of yourself to.

From Mia Adams

I then hit the sent button and drank my coffee

"Daniel your right not everyone is so horrible, Brad from my department has sent me a email to see how I am. He says alot of people are really annoyed with how people treated me" I say.

"I told you, you don't have to worry. Things have been dealt with, I'm glad someone reached out to you though" says Daniel while smiling at me.

I continued to check my emails, then I started to continue with my general work.

Around 10:15am I stand up and go to leave the office

"Angel where are you going?" Daniel asks.

"To stretch my legs, I'm going to use the bathroom quickly" I say.

"Okay" he says smiling.

I quickly go use the bathroom and then decided to go make us drinks. As I come back to the office Daniel is coming out the office. "Where are you off to? I made us drinks" I say.

"Oh, the meeting remember?" Daniel says.

"Ah yeah I forgot about that, here take your drink with you" I say.

He comes over and takes his drink, then whispers in my ear. "If I hadn't promised I'd keep us dating a secret at work I'd kiss you right now" then he walks off laughing.

"This is not over with" I shout walking back into the office.

DANIELS POV

I couldn't help myself. I've been watching Mia all morning dreaming about those lips, but I promised it would be low key and no employees would find out. And I'm a man of my word.

I walk into the conference room

Everyone stands.

"Please lady's and gentlemen take a seat." I say

"I hope you are all well today, if everyone is ready shall we get the meeting underway" I say.

Once I see everyone is ready I start.

"So we all know that by the end of the year we should have 20 more cinemas open up in the UK. The bigger venues buildings I want arcades and night clubs to also join within them complexs.

How are we on getting this all ready for opening at the same time" I ask.

And with that the meeting is underway.

The meeting ended 15 minutes late.

I headed back to my office. And found Mia sat in my office chair her legs up on my desk. She is wearing a skirt today and them legs look define. She has her laptop wedged between her upper legs and stomach typing away.

"I think you look better sat at my desk than I do" I say.

"How did the meeting go?" she ask.

"It went good, but I'd rather been here watching this view" I say.

"Behave yourself" she says standing up walking back towards the sofa. I take the laptop out of her hands and put it on the table.

"We are at work" Mia says as I bring her into my arms.

"I know but we are in my office alone" I say before giving her a quick kiss.

"I've been thinking about kissing you throughout my whole meeting" I say once our lips part.

Then Leah walks through the door saying "I've come to take my sister in law to lunch."

Mia quickly escapes my arms and says "you know?" To Leah

"Yeah Daniel rang me last night. It's about time to I was getting impatient, I knew he liked you from the day I meet you. I could tell, but I dragged it out of him a few days later" she says

"Well we are just dating atm its nothing serious it's early days," say Mia.

"I know but I can tell you two are made for each other therefore I'm glad to have you as my sister in law" Leah says.

"Okay well I brought lunch into work today to avoid the lobby crowd" says Mia.

"Hmm no I'm not accepting that, it can stay in the fridge for tomorrow! We are going out and I'm not taking no for a answer. Me and Daniel will be with you" Leah says.

Then Leah says, "Daniel grab Mia's bag and your things we are going now," with that she takes Mia's hand and starts walking out the door. I quickly hurry up with my bits and Mia's bag.

As we get in the lift I say "here you go your bag" handing Mia her bag.

Mia takes her bag and looks nervous.

"Trust me no one will say anything with me here" says Leah smiling.

"Hey I'm the boss they won't say anything with me there either" I say.

"But I think there more scared of me" says Leah.

The door opens and Leah says "alright time to show em who's boss" and walks out with Mia.

I can't help but laugh. "Alright boss where are we going for lunch?" I ask while watching Mia who seems a little nervous but is walking out alright with us.

"Well Costa" says Leah.

When we are in costa we all place our order then me and Leah are arguing over who is paying! we are so into the debate we are not paying attention to anyone else.

"Well since you both couldn't decided I've paid" says Mia with the biggest grin I've seen mia have with satisfaction writtern all across her face to.

"What!" me and Leah say at the same time.

Me and Leah look at each other like alright stop copying me.

Mia laughs then says "well you both were so engrossed, that I just tapped my card so now your both to late! It's paid for" then she starts laughing at us.

"Ah I think we now have a new rival in who wants to pay the bills" says Leah

"I think your right although Mia forgets I pay her wages. I can easily have the money transferred back to her account" I say while trying not to laugh and act serious.

"Don't you dare! otherwise I won't talk to you for days" say Mia.

"Alright, you can win today but in future you won't!" I say smiling.

We take our seats with our drinks. I opted for a latte while Mia and Leah opted for hot chocolate. We were waiting for our sandwiches to arrive.

"How's your dad?" asks Leah to Mia.

"He finally left the house yesterday, my friends dad took him night fishing. He is probably home sleeping now. I will ring him tomorrow morning and see how he is" Mia says.

"That's good he left the house" I say.

"Yeah I've been worried about him lately." Mia says

"Well that's perfectly understandable that you would feel worried" says Leah.

Then our lunches arrive.

We blissfully eat our lunches before Leah bids me and Mia farewell. She had to get back to her coffee shop.

So you ready to go back to work?" I ask

" Yeah" Mia says smiling.

On the way back I think about how stressful things are for Mia.

"Mia are you sleeping better at night now?" I ask

"A little better, I fall asleep quicker with the background noise" Mia says

"That's good, if you can't sleep at night you can always ring me you know" I say.

"I know but I don't want to wake anyone else up" she says smiling at me.

"Well I'd rather you talk with me than lay awake upset okay, So ring me if your feeling upset anytime of the day or night" I say.

"Thanks and I will" Mia says.

"And if you want you can come stay at mine or I can come stay with you, if need be I'd rather know your okay. All you have to do is say and I will be there for you no matter if its 1am or 1pm" I say.

"I know" she says.

Then we walk into the lobby and Mia says "okay I can do this" and she walks very fast to the lift, that I have to quicken my pace to keep up with her.

When we get into the lift and the door closes, Mia cuddles into me before standing on her tipie toes to kiss me.

"What was that for?" I ask when Mia breaks away from the kiss.

"For being kind" she states while snuggling into my arms.

The lift doors open and Mia quicky moves away from me while walking out the lift.

"That's not over with" I say as I leave the lift.

"We will see" she says laughing at me as she is running into my office.

Hmm if she wants to tease me like that then I will win this I think. I walk towards my office determined to get Mia back in my arms and show her I'm not done kissing her yet.

"Mr Wicks we have a problem" says Jenny

"What is it?" I ask frustrated from being interrupted from getting back to my office sooner.

"Claire Lockwood has been to see a solicitor saying she was wrongly sacked and not by a member of staff" Jenny informs me.

"Go on" I say.

"The solicitor is requesting compensation along with her Job back" Jenny says.

"Jenny have you forgotten that Leah holds share in this company. Although she doesn't work here daily she still owns it as equally as I do. It's a family firm. Therefore she has every right to fire her" I say angry.

"I know" Jenny says followed by a sigh.

"Tell the solicitor that Leah owns as much as I do. She is in tilted to fire anyone she wants to. Also inform them, that we have witnesses to her assaulting Mia if she continues this harassment I will sue her for slander! As well as have her arrested for assault, Is that understood? Also have my solicitor draw up the letter" I say

"Yes Mr Wicks" Jenny says typing away at her computer.

That women has a screw lose trying to challenge me I think to myself as I walk into the office.

"Are you okay?" Mia asks as soon as i close the office door.

*I'm fine" I say bringing her into my embrace.

"You look angry though" Mia says looking up at me with concerned cute adorable eyes.

"No I'm not angry. I was just thinking how I can try convince you to skiv of work this afternoon, so I can kiss you as much as I want" I say. Then I quickly kiss Mia.

Hmm" she moans

"Keep moaning like that and I may not wait until after our first date to take you" I whisper in her ear.

"Alright, let me go we need to work" she says patting my arms.

"Fine, but have dinner with me tonight?" I say.

"Okay, but not a late one I need an early night I'm feeling tired today" Mia says followed by a yawn as if mentioning feeling tired reminder her to yawn. I couldn't help smiling.

"Then just stay over and we can come to work from mine in the morning" I say.

"I can't I haven't got any spare clothes at yours and I'm not wearing these here again tomorrow" Mia says while pointing at her own clothes with a disgusted look at the thought.

"Hmm, your right come on" I say grabbing her bag.

"Where are we going?" Mia asks.

"Your soon I see" I say while taking her hand in mine as we walk to the lift.

"But what about work? we can't just leave now" Mia says.

"Your forgetting I'm the boss, we can leave whenever I say we leave" I say.

The lift door opens and I bring her into the lift with me, as the doors close I wrap my arms around her waist lift her just a little so I can kiss those sweet lips again. Then I put her down just as lift doors are about to open.

"Where are we going?" ask Mia as were walking for the car park.

"Your see be patient" I say while smiling.

20 minutes later we are pulling up to a shopping mall.

"Why are we here?" she says as I open the door taking her hand in mine.

"Angel you said you have no clothes at mine, so I'm correcting that. If we are dating I'm going to want you to stay over often therefore you should have clothes at mine" I say Smiling proudly at correctly this situation.

"Ah, alright but I'm choosing the clothes store" she says.

"Okay" I say holding up my hands to say I won't protest.

We end up in new look and Mia is putting a few sets of clothes in the basket. "Hmm I think you need more than that" I say.

"No thats fine there's about 5 sets of clothes there" say Mia.

"Okay then" I say as we get to the till. I let Mia hand the clothes over, as she is about to pay I bring her into my embrace facing me. While I kiss Mia, at the same time I've hand my card over to the sales clerk to paying for it all. I then let go of Mia who trys to pay to discover I've already paid.

"Why did you do that?" She asks.

"Because you were sneaky in costa" I say smiling.

We then head for enougher shop it's Victoria secrets.

MIA'S POV

"Daniel you need to stay out here I'm not going in there with you" I say.

"Why not? he says giving me puppy dog eyes.

"Because I'm shy, plus your not pulling a stunt to pay again" I say crossing my arms at the same time to show I mean business in going in alone.

"Okay" he says smiling but I feel like he plotting something, I don't know what but he has this devil's grin with cheeky eyes look.

"I don't know what your plotting Daniel Wicks but stop it!" I say.

Daniel holds his arms up saying "I swear I will stay out here" while he laughs.

"Hmm you better" I say then kiss his cheek before going in.

I decide to get a pink lacey bra and thong set, 3 black sets, 2 white sets and then one corest with matching stockings and a blue baby doll set with black stockings. Since it will be staying at Daniels I figured they will come handy soon.

I head to the till's and hand over my basket. I then fish out my card, before I then go to pay except the sales lady says... "Oh its all paid for miss."

"What, how, when" I ask her.

"Oh the guy outside the shop he called me over gave me his card and said anything you buy goes on his card. And your not to be told until its paid for. He even pointed you out to me, so I've been stood here waiting for you" She says.

I just stood there wide eyes with my jaw nearly hitting the floor.

"Here is his card back have a nice day" she says smiling.

As I walk out Daniel is smiling.

"Your not funny" I say

"But I didn't enter the shop angel, I kept my word" he says.

"Why did you buy all that?" I ask annoyed.

"Because its my idea to bring you shopping, therefore I'm paying and we are not done yet" he says in a very happy tone, with a full on beaming smile.

"What I've got is more than enough" I say.

"Nope" he says taking me into enougher clothes shop.

"Hmm" he say holding a dress against me

"What do you think?" Daniel asks after a few minutes debating it.

"No" i say while looking at a dress next to where it was on the rack.

"Oh I see you like this one instead" he says.

"No, No i don't." I say. Then he gets the one that's my size while saying good choice.

"What how do you know my size?" I say while pouting.

"I was paying attention in the last shop" he simply says while taking the dress.

We walk around and I look at a pretty skirt with a slight slit on its side its black with small red roses down one side but I try to make out I'm not looking at it. Daniel then picks that up.

"How did you know?" I say.

"Your eyes lingered a second longer than on the others" Daniel says smiling

Damn this bloke surely knows how to pay attention I think to myself.

Before I know it there's loads of clothes in the pile. Some where okay some I liked alot and Daniel brought them all even thought I said I didn't need or want them.
