Chapter 4

The party ended with many eyes looking down on Ayesha's attitude who dared to accept her grandfather's challenge. They didn't expect Ayesha's attitude to be so arrogant and overconfident. No, they felt that Ayesha was not aware that she had really been thrown out of her family. But, with great courage, she dared to come and make a scene to become the main character. Moreover, Erwin's arrival was equally surprising. The man they knew was helpless and useless, still dared to shamelessly come to the party and make the party atmosphere unpleasant. Ayesha took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the people's gazes that seemed to never stop judging her. The cynical smiles and whispers behind her still rang in her mind. That night should have been a celebration for her family, but instead, it became a bitter night for her. "Ayesha," Liana greeted in a cold and piercing tone, "you stole the show tonight. Too bad, not in the way you should have," her words were like a sharp knife that stabbed straight into Ayesha's heart. Liana approached, her voice turning into a whisper full of poison. "You really think you can be the successor of Grandpa's company? Seeing the way you acted tonight... gosh, you're such a disgrace. Everyone sees how incompetent you are, how unworthy you are of that position." Ayesha swallowed, trying to hold back the tears that began to well up in her eyes. She tried to look at Liana with determination, but inside, a sinking feeling began to take over. "I know what I'm doing, Liana," she muttered, though her voice sounded weak. Even though Ayesha didn't know whether her attitude was right or not, Erwin's presence beside her and his words asking Ayesha to trust him made Ayesha believe that she could prove her words. Liana chuckled, the taunt felt so painful. "You know? Oh, honey, everyone knows how weak you are. Grandpa might have given you this chance, but we all know you'll only ruin everything." Ayesha stared at her, full of hatred and hurt; she wanted to retaliate again. But Erwin held her hand again so that Ayesha would not have to reply to someone unimportant like Liana. Liana glanced at Erwin and just let out a sigh of dislike and disdain. She then left the two of them with a smile of disdain. Ayesha felt her heartbeat beating ten times faster. She knew it was not the time to feel anger that was peaking like this. She should have felt more joy because her beloved husband was by her side, looking fine. But her anger could not be contained, especially when she saw her grandfather who also left without a word and only gave a sharp glance as if he did not like her and Erwin's presence there. After everyone left the party hall, Ayesha looked dazed and weak until she almost lost her balance. But Erwin quickly held Ayesha's body so that she did not fall. Erwin looked worried and guided Ayesha to sit down for a moment to calm her mind. "What really happened?" Ayesha asked not understanding. The tears she had been holding back since earlier just flowed without Ayesha being able to hold them back. Erwin looked confused at Ayesha's question. "What really happened? How could you come in this condition? Are... you really recovered?” Ayesha continued with complex feelings. Between happiness, sadness, and disappointment mixed into one. She knew that Erwin could not possibly recover in a matter of minutes after she left him some time ago. Erwin, who still could not speak fluently and even looked at himself, was still unfocused, but now he looked fine and even looked like he had never been sick at all. Erwin smiled slightly then wiped Ayesha's tears and looked at her gently. "I'm recovered now, I'm not pretending to be sick. I just... chose not to show my condition, which was improving quickly. I'm sorry for making you suffer all this time," Erwin said with regret and guilt. But Ayesha shook her head and held Erwin's hand tightly. “No, no need to apologize. I am very happy to see you back like before. I am really happy, really,” said Ayesha with tears that could not stop flowing. Erwin smiled slightly, knowing that Ayesha's feelings were torn apart right now. The feeling of regret for not recovering sooner made Erwin feel guilty, and they would not let Ayesha be humiliated like this again. Erwin was determined to repay all the people's treatment of him and his beloved wife Ayesha, leaving no room for them to trample on their pride again. “I will show you something, and repay everyone who has belittled and belittled you like today. I will make them receive karma for trampling on me and your pride,” said Erwin with a look full of ambition and burning revenge. Ayesha nodded and was a little more relieved. She knew that this day would come after her sacrifices all day long. Erwin then led Ayesha out of the building. When they came out, several cars were already there waiting for Erwin and Ayesha to arrive. One of them approached and saluted along with the guards who got out of the car. "Welcome, Commander," he said and invited the two to get into the luxury car by opening the door. Erwin smiled and led Ayesha to get into the car. Ayesha just silently followed Erwin's steps with a confused look. She never thought she would get treated like this after struggling alone and being belittled for the past 3 years. The car then drove away to a place that had just been bought by Erwin's company, Crestview Group. A building that was famous for its luxury and large size. They stopped right in front of the building, the door opened, and invited Erwin and Ayesha to get out. When they got out, the two of them were again saluted by all the employees who had just worked there a few minutes ago. One of them greeted their arrival with teary eyes. He almost cried when Erwin smiled at him. "Let's go in, Commander," said Jonathan. Erwin's trusted person who managed all the affairs of the Crestview Group while Erwin was sick for the past 3 years. “I didn’t expect to see you again, President Erwin,” Jonathan said. Erwin just nodded and followed Jonathan’s steps that led them to the main room. Belonging to the President of Crestview Group, Erwin. Ayesha couldn’t stop staring in awe and wonder at the luxurious and large building. What she knew before was that the building belonged to one of the biggest businessmen in her city. But now it belongs to Erwin? As she entered the room, Ayesha’s eyes widened when she saw the name CrestView Group clearly displayed in front of her.
