Callum I slowly, carefully slung my legs over the bed's border and tried shifting my weight onto them. Now that my father had finally stopped hounding me, I could seize this opportunity to sneak away. My friends wanted to skip school to accompany me today but I insisted for them to go so they could inform me if they saw Jillian there. My worry only worsened when they called me an hour ago to tell me that she hadn't gone to school… and neither had her brother. I had a nagging thought that something had happened to her and she needed help.  My wound screamed in protest from my efforts but I knew this wouldn't be enough to cause the stitches to tear.
