SIMEON, THAT BASTARD OF AN ANGEL. f*****g lecturing me like that. Luciel was frowning the moment the memory of last night's conversation flashed in his mind. ROMINA KEPT ON EXAMINING LUCIEL’S FACE as his head leaned on her shoulder. She could tell that he was really, really upset because his eyes were still gleaming in red, as if anytime he could transform in his demon form and go berserk. So far, that didn’t happen though which she was a bit thankful for. She didn’t really know what happened earlier but as much as she wanted to ask Luciel about it, she thought of something otherwise. “I legit didn’t know what happened but I am really sorry if I messed up earlier and I made you upset.” When Luciel realized that Romina was just beside him, trying to comfort him, he immediately looked at her and sat beside her properly, looking at her face which obviously flaunting a sad expression. His gleaming red eyes slowly subsided as his eyes went back to normal brown eyes. He sighed and patted Romina’s head. “I’m not upset at you so don’t cry.” “I’m not crying!” “You’re obviously on the verge of crying, though.” “I said, I’m not.” “Heh~” Luciel smirked at her. “Should I make you cry then?” This demon really had the audacity of smirking at me as if he was not upset moments ago. “Ugh, shut up, Luciel and tell me what happened earlier that made you upset like that,” Romina said. “And stop telling me that ‘I’m a demon, why would I get upset’ reason of yours because you obviously are upset.” Luciel fell into silence for a couple of seconds before he looked away. “I don’t know if beings like you develop emotions like that but I think it’s really valid for you to be upset, you know. Even animals get upset, not just humans so it’s valid,” she said. “And it’s okay for you to tell me what made you upset. To humans, sharing their thoughts and feelings somehow lessen the burden inside their hearts and minds.” Luciel fell into silence once again, as if he’s contemplating something inside his mind. Romina patiently waited for him to speak as she kept on taking a glimpse at him. “Remember that I asked you a question…” Luciel trailed off, breaking the silence between them. “…that have you experienced blaming someone or even yourself on something that happened in the past, right?” “Yeah, I remember that one. You did ask me about it,” she nodded. “You told me those words. I did remember it as well,” Luciel looked at her and Romina once again saw how his eyes gleamed into red. “You see, I’m a demon and I’m not nice. So, I don’t think I could do that. You may forgive and forget. They may forgive and brush everything into an abandonment of a memory… but I will never, ever forget that day. That day I lost something important to me.” The angel looked all b****y on his white robe as he extended his hand, as if he was trying to grab someone. His left arm was pierced with a red arrow and she could see how b****y and pained he looked right now. He was crying as he kept on saying words that she couldn’t comprehend. She extended her hand to hold him but she paused mid-air when she also saw how b****y her hand and arm was and she saw how she fell from the sky… and lost her senses and her life that moment.
