"No one dares, even angels, to hurt my guardian.”
The silence filled the air as Romina stared at the angel’s eyes in front of her as if they have a staring contest with each other.
“Your guardian, huh…?”
“So, you’re one of those selected demons who were assigned to guard selected humans temporarily before the archangels and the Father will allow deploying the angels who finish their training…”
With his arms crossed over his chest and a frown on his forehead, Luciel responded. “Obviously, yeah. Haven’t you heard about that? You didn’t know about that?”
They’re currently inside Romina’s room since she was worried that people might see her with celestial beings like Luciel and Simeon so she managed to let them in. Marivic was sleeping soundly on her bed while Luciel was sitting on her gamer’s chair and Simeon was standing in front of them.
And like what she read about angels’ appearances, Simeon has shiny, blonde hair, blue eyes like the color of a clear sky and he’s wearing a robe that glitters brightly. She could also see his golden halo on top of his head and his wings. His shiny white wings.
“I know all about that but I didn’t expect that you’re one of those demons...”
“Tsk,” Luciel clicked his tongue begrudgingly. “The fact that I was trying to save your human from that dangerous apparition because she couldn’t have the ability to summon you and you just attacked me without even asking? That doesn’t sit well to me.”
Simeon awkwardly scratched the back of his head and chuckled. It was really obvious how guilty he was when he suddenly attacked Luciel. “I apologize for it. I didn’t really mean it. If I knew that you’re a temporary guardian then I wouldn’t attack like that. I’m really, really sorry.”
Luciel pointed his face. “You should, you know?! I was doing a ‘good’ deed in saving your human and yet you had the audacity to attack me like that! You smashed my handsome face on the rough ground. How dare you!”
Simeon bowed at him. “I’m sorry, I didn’t really mean it.”
“You—”
“Shut up, Luciel. He’s already sorry, you know? You should forgive him already,” Romina interrupted and Luciel even shouted 'demons don't forgive! I am not a softie!'. She looked at Simeon who’s now looking like a kicked puppy because of Luciel acting like a grumpy, angry cat. “I’m very sorry about Luciel. He really has this anger management issue. I hope you understand.”
“Hey! I don’t have that!”
“Ugh, you shut up, Luciel! You’re at fault too, you know?”
Gasping exaggeratedly, Luciel looked at her. “What?! Me?! Why am I at fault when in the first place, that angel was the one who attacked me!”
“I didn’t really mean it, Luciel. I’m sorry…”
“I just noticed it earlier…” she muttered. “It seems like you really knew each other. Are you guys friends or something?”
“Ah, yes we are—”
“No, we’re not,” Luciel cut Simeon off. He glared at the angel who was actually looking at him like he got hurt on what the former told Romina. “We’re not friends. Angels and demons will never be friends,” he looked away, trying to avoid Romina and Simeon’s stares at him.
Why are you acting and sounding like you’re actually trying to hide your relationship with Simeon? Romina looked at Luciel in suspicion and before the latter could turn his head at her, she immediately looked at Simeon.
“By the way, Angel Simeon, are you really my best friend’s guardian?”
“Yes. I am the guardian assigned to her from Celestial Realm.”
“Oh, I see. Is she okay now?”
“Yes. I managed to exterminate the apparition by purifying it. Marivic is already safe but she still needs a rest,” Simeon responded to her with a soft smile on his face.
“Thank goodness, she’s okay,” she muttered as she tapped her chest and sighed in relief. “Thank you so much that you came to save her.”
“It’s actually my duty as her guardian.”
“But she didn’t summon you,” Luciel interrupted and met Simeon’s eyes. “It’s a violation. What are you going to do about that?”
Simeon couldn’t help but smile. “Are you worried about me, Luciel?”
Eyes widen, Luciel immediately rejected the idea. “What?! No way! Why would I get worried about angels like you?! Ugh, piss off, will ya?!”
Romina blankly stared at her. Figures, they really do have a relationship in the past. And wait, why am I even watching them like they’re some sort of a couple quarreling? Wow, Luciel’s temper is nuts and Simeon’s patience is unbelievable.
“Don’t worry about me, Luciel. Michael and Father will understand why I suddenly appeared in Marivic’s presence,” Simeon told him.
“I said I’m not worried about you!” Luciel shouted and crossed his arms more over his chest. “Don’t be so delusional, f**k it!”
You’re obviously worried about him. Romina commented on her head.
Luciel suddenly turned his head at her and yelled. “I’m not worried, I said!”
Shoot, he can read my mind. I forgot about that.
“Well, whatever floats your boat, Luciel.”
“I said, I’m not! Argh!”
“I have to go now, everyone. I should leave before Marivic wakes up and sees me. She mustn’t see me yet since she hasn’t summoned me. Thank you so much for watching over Marivic,” Simeon told her then his eyes settled on Luciel once again. “Thank you for protecting her, Luciel.”
“Argh. Shut up, you angel, and begone already.”
Simeon nodded and with a soft smile, he spoke. “Well then…”
Romina’s gaze followed Simeon as he flew towards the sky until he could no longer be seen. Silence immediately filled Romina’s room. After a minute or two, she turned to Luciel.
“Don’t you ever talk about it.”
With a pout, Romina looked away. This secretive demon.
