10 Silverstone, England ALAIN STOOD OVER the engineer’s shoulder at the new Team Dubois racing headquarters. The lingering smell of engine oil, grease, and tire rubber crowded his nostrils. He glanced around, taking in the surroundings. The cleanliness of the engineering bays nearly rivaled that of surgical theaters. Every gadget around him was the latest in technology, while award-filled glass enclosures and photos of past wins lined the walls. He leaned in, inspecting the race and mechanical data on the large screen before them.
