Unbelievable reality

I remained silent for a while then looked slightly to see if they had gone back to whatever they did, as my eyes met the others which had already figured me out, but Rex was not with them.  I quickly turned back to avoid eye contact, only to see Rex standing behind me, with a weird smile on his face, then I saw his eyes display a red color.   “What are you?” I quavered, with my eyes on him as the others compassed me.  It was unexpected that the people I saw earlier were not bullies but werewolves. I was able to identify them by their reactions because I have read so many books about vampires and werewolves but only thought they were just fantasies, it never came to my mind they ever existed, not to speak of the fact I was standing before an actual werewolf.  They held me to the pillar as Rex looked at me with great hate on his face.  “Steve… Steve, famous young dude.” he said as he walked round the pillar,  then stopped before me again. I wondered what he was planning to do, because at a point like this there are only two things he could possibly do, it is either death or transformation, but I didn’t understand what his reasons could possibly be for either actions.  “I know what you are, what do you intend to do to me?," I said as I tried to free myself. "You have to let me go because if you don't I will tell the world what you are, ” I said as he rumbled then turned around. “You just gave me a reason why I should kill you, But I think my pack are not totally wrong. Killing such a bold person doesn’t seem like a bright idea," he paused then turned back at me. "You have to choose, either you die or you become a werewolve?” He said, as he turned around walking towards Peter. “Nice job Peter, you did good, I don’t think you will be punished any longer since everything turned out as planned.”  I saw the smile of relief in Peter's face as Rex turned back towards me. “What do you think Steve? How do you feel to be a part of my pack?”  “I will never join you Rex… never,” I said boldly to his face not minding what comes next. I noticed the angry look on his face as his eyes got darkened. It was obvious he got upset by my response. I saw his fist tightened as his eyes displayed a red color.  “You should be glad I am offering you the opportunity to live, no one who knows this part of me makes it out alive except they join my pack and you are no different.” “I am not interested Rex, death is better than living a life as a werewolf under your rule.” I said strictly, since I had nothing to lose, I was already in a dangerous situation and making me a werewolf was not an option. “I like your courage Steve, but down here I make the choices,” He said as he ran quickly towards me.  That moment my mind drifted to my mother. 'What would she think of me if I walked out of the basement as a werewolf?'  I thought, as I struggled to fight my way off but their strength was far stronger than mine since they were werewolves, so it was Impossible for me to make a move.  Rex was about to pierce his wild teeth through my skin, but was distracted by a sudden sound in the basement behind another pillar a little distant from where we were. As he withdrew himself, he looked towards the direction where the sound came from but there was no one there, then he quickly ran towards the pillar. I stood held there as the sound came once more leaving a deep injury on one of the werewolves, and In a twinkle of an eye they were all taken down one after the other until I was left with Peter. Immediately I saw a hand that held Peter from behind lifting him up by the neck as he quickly threw him towards a pillar.  "Run," he said to me as I took to my feet making my way towards the basement exit but Rex got to me as he was about slitting my throat with his hand but I shifted quickly as the other one ran towards Rex. Rex speedily caught him by the jacket from his side throwing him to the floor, he got up in a blink, as I heard the slight hiss In his voice seeing the red and gold alteration in his eyes that was filled with fear, gradually moving backward with his aggressive posture.  I stopped then looked at Rex and noticed his eyes burn in anger with the rumbling voice which was obviously loud, from the look of what I saw he was courageous but highly cautious. I wanted to leave but I knew I had to do something to help so I looked on the floor as I saw a plastic chair. The best way to help was to divert Rex's attention since he cannot get us once we are out of the basement so I took up the chair. The other one which came out of the blue, kept moving backward like he was about to go away, as I threw the plastic chair towards the left part of the basement and at Rex's slight distraction we ran out. the last sound I heard was Rex’s loud voice of frustration. We got outside the school environment as he told me to get into his car. Without question, knowing fully well that my life was at stake if I refused, I entered the car and fastened my seat belt. "Wait, my friend's life could be at stake?" I said to him as he started the car quickly riding off.  "Your friend will be alright, you should be more concerned about yourself, because you are their main target." He replied. From what I saw earlier I wasn't sure the kind of species he was, his actions earlier were somehow related to that of a werewolf.  I thought of him being a vampire but still I wasn't certain since I haven't seen him drink any human blood, but a sure thing was that he was definitely different from the ones I saw earlier, the sound of his voice, and the color alterations in his eyes and his mode of fighting. "Are you also a werewolf?" I asked. "It would be best if you are not aware, because if you are you will definitely regret getting into this car." He replied, still riding as quickly as he could. "Why were they after me?" I asked again. "I know you have a lot of questions right now but you have to let it go," he replied as he stopped by a large building.  "Follow me," he said, coming out of the car as he led me towards the front door. When we entered the house, he told me to wait downstairs as he went upstairs. I waited patiently then looked sideways as a mysterious painting caught my attention. I stared at the painting for a while as I examined it closely. Few minutes later he walked down the stairs with a young man, who looked a little older than he was, as they made their way towards me. “This is the son of the famous Frank and Karen Michaels.” He said as the young man welcomed me with a handshake. “I am Albert and the boy Kyle standing before you I consider as my son.” The young man said as we took our seat. “Is there anything you would like to be offered?”  “No, I'm okay.” I replied, but he insisted I had something so he asked Kyle to get three glasses of juice. “I know you have a lot of questions.” Albert said, giving me an intense look as I shifted my eyes back at the painting. “I believe what you must have seen was much for you." At a moment like that, I hoped I wasn't in the midst of vampires because they were the most deadly predators for a human to be around. The only question that crossed my mind amongst all the multitudes I had to ask was. “If the people I saw earlier were werewolves then what creatures are you?” I turned back towards Albert to be certain that I wasn’t in a greater danger.
