Chapter 5Mateo tried to be patient with Wes and Lily. He’d explained the bare bones of the situation to Lily and promised to tell them more in the car. The fact that Wes had repeatedly insisted they’d take Mateo home made him feel conflicted in so many ways.
For one, there would be unknown danger waiting. He could call his sister or someone else in the pack, but if his sister had pushed their family alpha power to him, something was seriously wrong with her. It wasn’t something an alpha did lightly, especially one like Elena, who knew how much he loathed the idea of being in charge of the pack.
