Something To Lose

"If you had the chance..." He took a deep breath before whispering again,"Would you kill me?"

His gravelly voice sent chill to my whole body.My waist was surrounded with his arms.My body was almost touching his.We were standing in the middle of the green.So beautiful yet so remorseful.

"I had the chance..." I whispered but I didn't wish to continue due to the guilt forming in my heart.I pushed him away and walked towards the house.

"But you didn't,Lucia.You didn't." He said from the back.His tone changed completely.

I ignored it and walked back to the house, wiping my tears.

It was true that I led a happy and cheerful life but no one knew what was the actual truth.

My parents loved me a lot but they kept secrets from me.A lot of secrets.They weren't understandable at all.

Alex,he too kept secrets from me.I didn't understand but being pushed aside by everyone taught me one thing.I should mind my own business and walk forward.

I forgave everyone easily.I trusted everyone easily.Maybe that was my mistake.

I sat down the dinner table and pushed aside my thoughts.

"Luke..." I called him.He stopped eating and looked at me.

"Walker is coming for you." I said it even when I shouldn't have.He smiled and continued eating.

I was scared for him.I was scared for his life.Even I was scared of myself.

"Aren't you scared? Having so many enemies,so many threats?" I asked.

"No." He replied.He was so powerful after all.Why should he be scared? He knows that he will win no matter what.

"Having nothing to lose,is that what makes you powerful?" I asked.

"Having nothing to lose...it's not true.What I have is really precious and I would rather give my life for it." He said with a smile.I didn't understand what he meant.

I drank a mouthful of water and walked away from the table.
