Too many secrets to even begin to make ends meet

We sat at the table in the middle of the house. Ari filled the cups with herbal tea, and she even sprinkled something extra into mine with a little wink when she caught me looking. When I asked what it was she just smiled and said that it was nothing bad and had nothing to worry about, so I should drink it before it gets cold. Words that never made anyone worry less, but I did not want to seem rude so I did as she said. The tea was amazing and filled my body with this warmth that I could not compare to anything else. From inside out I felt myself tingle and relax. I sank a bit more into my chair. "So, how come someone your age doesn't have any training?" Her sudden question made everything freeze for a moment. I took a moment to take a breath as I looked at the demon to get help, but he just smiled and nodded to me. Bastard. The smile on his face was not what I needed. Okay, calm down... I took a few deep breaths and tried telling her what had happened. "Well, the convent I grew up in only thought those who showed potential or had a lot of energy were worthy of learning the craft. I did not, so I was raised to do household chores and not magic." It was strange talking about the covent... I still had not processed what has happened or how I felt about them. A part of me was angry, but they were still the only family I knew. Thinking about it made my head hurt and left a bitter taste in my mouth. When I looked up at Ari, to see if my explanation was enough, I only saw nothing else but even more confusion. "Oh, so it was the left over from your cult that I felt lingering in the back." Felt? I had no idea one could feel such things, but I did not question her, no matter how much I wanted to. So I gave her a small nod as I looked away. Stopping myself before the questions slipped away. I had been punished for my never ending questions more then enough and I really need to be on my best behavior if I want this lady to teach me how to use my powers. "But how did they not feel your energy?" Confused, I looked up at her and blinked a few times. "Because I noticed your energy the moment you stepped into my territory." "You noticed my energy? Most couldn't feel anything. For a long time, everyone was sure that I did not have any power at all. That I was a lost cause and all that." The look on her face remained confused, she looked up at the demon behind me and then her face turned into a smile as she looked back at me. "Well, I guess we will figure that out later. Now, let's enjoy our tea." She said as she filled our cups once more... well my cup, as the others had not drunk theirs. Not sure what was appropriate or not, I drank the tea again. With each sip I was feeling more and more tired but relaxed at the same time. The tea had some good stuff in it because not a moment later I felt all tingly and comfy leaning back into my chair, but somehow I ended up leading against the demon's shoulder. "It's okay, rest little witch. You had a big day, now rest." The exhaustion from all that happened hit me. Mixed with the magical tea, it was more than enough to make me all drowsy. I felt myself drifting away, but not fully, as I still heard the conversation happening around me. "What are you doing with her, Raggaron?" "Why do you care Ari?" "You brought her into my home... After all these years you show your face here... after all that has happened... You step over your own pride and hurt to bring her here." "It is none of your concerns why I am here, and we will not touch the past." His words sounded stern and stiff. There was no room left for questions or questioning him in any way. "This has nothing to do with me, but with her. As far as you are concerned, she is just a lost little witch that needs help to find her footing." "Because she is lost, and she has no idea what she is doing. Training vise, she is nothing more than just a baby stumbling on her first steps." "Yes, that is why she needs you." A big sight left Ari's chest. "You won't tell me the truth no matter how much I press?" "No I will not." He answered with a chuckle. "How did you even find her?" "Well, she summoned me." "Summoned you?" "Well, she was summoning him, but I have been on the call duty for the last few centuries, not that we have received that many." "Many? How many have you gotten in the last hundred years?" "Other than from you? Zero." A chuckle left the older witch's chest. "Okay, the kid has the power to do a summoning spell." "She managed to do it under binding spell... she had like one percent of her power if not less back then." "Well, that is impressive. She must have been very determined, keeping in mind that she had no training. It's a surprise she survived it. But binding? So that is how she slipped unnoticed by her convent?" "Yep." "Okay, but she doesn't seem that powerful now. Are you sure she is that powerful?" "Well, she doesn't seem powerful because I am controlling her energy flow." "You are doing what?" "Calm down. She almost exploded and took the whole convent with her when I removed the binding, so I control her power flow for now. That is why I took her here. You are the only one that could help her." "Okay, so she is that powerful." "Yes and very clueless... the convent she comes from is like way below the food chain. They had the materials, but never learned, so she will need a lot of work." I herald Ari take another deep breath as my brain started to slip away into full sleep. "So how come you are up..." But I never got to the last of her words because everything started to fade fully and I fell asleep. Not a moment later, I was back in the covent... back in the room on fire, but this time there was no demon to save me. I felt the flames eating away at my skin. "... little witch... come on wake up... its time for your training..." A felt a gentle cold hand on my shoulder pulling me out of the flames. My eyas shot open as I took a deep breath in and looked around. I was not in the flaming room but in a nice cool green room... well it was not green, but the amount of green plants covering it made it look like that. I looked around as I tried to make my heart stop from trying to jump out of my chest. As my eyes landed on the figure that was still holding onto my shoulder. "Come on little witch, it's time for your first day of training." My eyes blinked a few times as I remembered where I was and what the hell was going on. "Umm... yeah... Just a moment..." A little chuckle made me blinke a few more times as I looked up at the the demon and saw his usual smirk. "Come on, you don't want to make your teaches wait, she has quite a temper." "I heard that..." Came from somewhere deeper in the house."
