chapter seven

"Are you sure?" she asked giving me a questioning look.
"Of course babe, I don't feel a thing for Halloween, I only love you," I held her hand and kissed it lightly.
"Yeah, what was I thinking," she let out a chuckle and wrapped her arms around me, "you are one of her biggest bullies so there is no way you could love her. Why don't we spend sometime together?" she suggested, " it's been long since we had couple time and oh I was thinking that we go out and--" she continued talking about the plans she had for the day while I felt guilty for lying to her and even more guilt for making Angel's life a living hell, I need to make up for my mistakes and treat her right. Angel deserves the world!
"Are you even listening to me?"
"Huh?" I looked at Phoebe and she was glaring at me,
" I've been talking for like an hour and you aren't even paying attention to me!" she huffed, crossing her arms and looked the other way.
"I'm sorry I just have a lot on my mind right now, I need some comfort," I let out a sad sigh lowering my gaze hoping that she would take symphathy
" What's wrong?" she asked completely forgetting all about the anger.
"I'm in destress baby, I've done something really bad and I don't know how to fix it,"
" Oh I didn't know you were going through so much, why don't we go get some maybe ice cream then we talk about it," she suggest leading the way and giving me the perfect idea of how I would make it up to Halloween --- I mean Angel for all the troubles I've caused her.
***Angel pov***
"Angel," I heard a knock on the door but I didn't responded and instead just lay there on the bed with my eyes closed.
"Angel can we talk?" The person knocked again followed by opening the door without even waiting for a reply.
Judging by the strong scent I knew it was claudio.
"I know you are not sleeping," he said sitting on the bed next to me, 'I really want to talk to you and apologise for what happened,"
" Just go away, I don't want to hear any of your lies!"
" Let me explain please,"
I sat up giving him my full attention
" Explain what? That you just want to be seeing me at night and lavishing her with love the whole day? Do you take me for a fool? What do you want from me huh? If you don't want me then just reject me and get over with it stop playing me damn it!" I growled again giving him the harsh glare I could master,
"I'm sorry," he apologized, his gaze lowered not making eye contact.
"Sorry? That's all you---"
"Let me explain," he cut me off,
"You see there are a lot of girls that want me and if they find out that you and I are together, they will start bullying you again that's why I ignored you. I promise I will introduce you as my woman during the alpha ceremony but for now I want us to keep our relationship private so that they don't hurt you,"
"By private you mean secret?" I asked but he swiftly shook his head saying,
"No, private. Let's confuse our enemies. They will think I'm dating Ashley but in reality I'm with you,"
" I'm not a fool you know that right?"
"Yes baby, I do," he held my hand and looked me straight in the eye, "look at me and you will see that I'm being sincere. I love you angel, I've always loved you ever since we were young and not a day passes by without me thinking of you. I promise, hurting you is the last thing I want to do, "
" But you are doing it anyway,"
" And I'm deeply sorry, please forgive me and trust me, my feelings for you are real and about Ashley to hell with her, I don't feel s**t for her the only woman I want is you,"
I fixed my eyes on his and I didn't see any hint of lies. His eyes held nothing but sincerity.
"But what if he's just pretending?" I thought to myself.
" Give me a chance and I promise I will do better,"
" Promise?" I asked
" I promise,"
"One last chance," I said and he smiled widely saying,
" I promise you won't regret it! I love you so much angel," without warning, he placed his lips on mine and I smiled responding to the kiss. Atleast he has promised to be a better man for me.
"I would have loved to go further," he said breaking the kiss and breathing heavily, "But you are special and I'm saving you for a special moment," he pecked my lips then moved me to the other side of the bed and slept next to me,
"I've always wanted to do this,"
I let out a soft giggle as he tightly held on to me kissing my forehead a comfortable silence stretching between us but it didn't last long.
His phone loudly rang grabbing our attention,
"Um it's --- I'm sorry baby, I have to go,"
" Promise you will come back?" I asked while he stood up from the bed
"I promise," he pecked my lips and disappeared out of the room.

"I'm exhausted," I said to myself while walking out of the last class of the day.
After Claudio left yesterday, he didn't come back but he video called me and we talked the whole night something that he's never done before. But I was glad he did it, at least I know he didn't spend the night with Ashley and he promised to spend the rest of the day together today.
Even though I was tired, spending the day with him gave me a little energy.
I walked over to my locker and the moment I opened it to stuff my books inside,
"Hey," a random girl suddenly said popping out of nowhere.
"Um," I looked around the hallway to see who she was talking to but everyone was busy with their own stuff not even looking our way.
"I'm talking to you," she said with a bright smile on her face.
I blinked looking at her from head to toe and she looked fairly new. I had never seen such a face at this school.
"Are you new?" I asked but she shook her head saying,
"No I've been here for like a year now and I always look at you from afar but I never really got to master the courage to say hi until today of course. Hi, I'm Angela nice to meet you," she stretched out her hand and I looked at it wondering if I should shake it or not, last time someone did this, they had a zappy thingy on their hand that sent an electric shock all over me. I wasn't going to fall for this again.
"Um I'm sure you know who I am and I'm not ready for whatever prank so kindly leave," I spoke turning my attention to the locker
I stuffed my books inside and locked it but the moment I turned around I found her still there smiling brightly and unmoving
"I just want to be friends. I've been here for a year now and I don't have a single friend. Will you be mine?" she asked but I shook my head and said,
"Look Angela I'm not interested. If you made a bet with your silly friends to prank me again I won't fall for it so kindly leave!"
" No, I promise----"
"alpha Claudio!" we heard someone loudly scream and we all looked only to see him walking down the hallway with Ashley clinging on to his arm as if she was his beloved mate.
Everyone in the hallway screamed in joy surrounding the couple while I just stood there feeling like the biggest fool in the entire world.
Seeing them like that I felt like I was the most gullible person in this world. How could I have believed his lies? It's obvious he will keep treating me like s**t all the time and
"Don't look at them look at me," I looked at the person and the girl Angel was no longer there and instead Benson was standing right where she earlier stood, giving me a serious look.
I didn't say anything to him and instead ran outside of the school but he was quick to catch up to me.
"Why! Why does he do this to me why!" I sobbed holding myself really tightly and he wrapped his arms around me.
"It's okay, don't cry honey everything will be okay," he soothed.
" Okay? Didn't you see that?" I pushed him off looking at him, " he will never love me! He will just keep on playing with my emotions like this. Just yesterday, he told me he loved me and today he's all over her and why is that huh??"
" I wish I knew," he softly spoke wiping away my tears. " But I know something that will cheer you up,""
"What's that?" I asked sniffing lightly
"Why don't we go out for ice cream? It's pretty hot today and I heard ice cream heals broken hearts,"
" You want to take me out for ice cream?" I asked and he nodded his head, smiling lightly.
"Really? Shouldn't you be bullying me like you always do?"
" You've been sad this whole week and I just want to cheer you up,"
"Why?" I asked not sure why he was randomly being nice to me after years of endless bullying.
" Because you are special and Claudio is a fool not to see it, shall we," he held my arm and led me to his car.
