chapter four

"He will come around don't worry," Benson said smiling lightly at me.
" Hey babe come here," I heard my sister Phoebe say motioning to Benson who immediately let go of my hand and went to her.
I let out a sigh about to go sit in my usual spot which was the kitchen but before I could go,
"Where are you going?" The Luna asked, "come sit here,"
I nodded my head and as if knowing that her son was my mate, she made me sit next to him, between him and Benson who was busy trying to explain to my sister why he was holding my hand.
I looked at Claudio hoping that maybe he would acknowledge my presence but his eyes where fixed on his phone which kept beeping every two seconds.
"Go on eat," the Luna said placing a plate of rice balls and soft steak Infront of me.
I said a small thank you and the moment I grabbed the fork about to dig into the food,
"Claudie baby," all the on going chatters stopped as we all looked at Ashley, the queen bee of the school and pack, Benson's younger sister.
She squeaked running towards claudio and wrapping her arms around him.
"What the f**k?" I heard Benson whisper under his breath as we all looked at Claudio who lovingly removed her arms off of him and made her sit on his laps.
"Hey cupcake," he said nuzzling his nose over hers and she giggled kissing his cheek.
"What's going on between you two?" I asked looking at them and as if trying to anger me, Claudio wrapped an arm around her waist pulling her closer.
"Yeah Claudio what's going on between you and my sister?" Benson asked I looked at him and he had his angry gaze glued on Claudio.
"What does it look like?" Claudio asked with a raised eyebrow looking at Benson. The latter let out a low grow about to say something but but Claudio beat him to it saying,
"We had a deal,"
"What deal?" I asked looking between the two men.
Instead of responding, Benson huffed picking up his fork and stuffing his face with the food while Claudio lovingly whispered sweet nothings in Ashley's ear.
Seeing him openly shower affection on another woman instead of me his mate made me boil in anger and all sorts of murderous thoughts filled my mind! How dare she! No ----how dare he! He knew I was his mate he even marked me and yet here he was loving her instead of me!
How could this stupid mate of mine do this---
"Angel?"
"Huh!" I snapped my eyes towards the Luna who was giving me a questioning look that was mixed with confusion.
"Are you okay?" She asked
"Um yeah I'm fine," I responded looking back at Claudio who was busy looking at the stupid good for nothing Ashley that I so badly want to strangle to death with my bare ha--
"You seem angry," the Luna spoke again grabbing my attention.
"I'm not angry," I replied my gaze fixed on the couple Infront of me.
Claudio looked my way for a split second then blinked looking back at Ashley who giggled followed by kissing his cheeks
How dare she kiss my man! I felt a growl rumble inside of me but I suppressed it.
"Kill her she can't be touching out man like that! Kill her right now," Lyca growled in my head and I could feel her slowly take over.
" The way you are holding the fork with your claws out is clear evidence that you are angry," I heard alpha Hugo say and I immediately looked at my hand only to realize that my claws where indeed out.
I quickly let go of the fork then stood up and without a word, ran upstairs straight to my room.
I sat on the bed my anger slowly disappearing and being replaced with sadness.
How could my own mate do this to me right after marking me? If he doesn't want me then why did he mark me and give me hope?
"He's your mate, isn't he?" My eyes snapped towards the door and the Luna stood there leaning on the door with her arms crossed, looking at me.
"Um I ---" I stuttered not sure what to say
She let our a sigh walking over and sitting on the bed next to me.
"Why didn't you tell me when I asked?" she asked wiping the lone tear that stained my cheeks.
"Well, because I ---" I let out a sigh lying on the bed, " he doesn't want me and he will probably reject me anyways,"
" But didn't he mark you?" she asked looking at my shoulder.
" Even I'm surprised, I don't know what's going on," I let out a humorless chuckle running my hands in my hair.
"I will talk to him,"
"No don't please," I quickly said cutting her off.
" Why not?" she asked
"Because I -- I don't want him to think that I was um--- complaining to you. Don't worry I'm sure I will handle things," I said smiling at her.
" Okay if you say so. Let's go you eat dinner,"
" No I'm not hungry right now, I will just go for a run," I got up and walked out of the house going straight into the woods.
Once I was there, I was about to strip down and shift when
"Why did you run off like that?" I looked at the source of the voice and Claudio was standing there looking at me.
I ignored him, walking off but he held my arm stopping me,
"Why are you ignoring me?"
"Ignoring you?" I pushed his hand off glaring at him,
" You were literally all over Ashley! Practically ignoring me and here you are asking why I'm ignoring you!"
"Ashley is just a friend,"
" Friend?" I scoffed, " do I look like a fool to you? That's not how friends behave with each othe-"
He silenced me by placing his lips on mine and instead of pushing him off, I melted into the kiss.
