Layla was done for the day and we were about to leave to go home. I had assisted Layla in cleaning the house, for free! It was so exhausting but I had fun, I guess.
I noticed that Layla had glazed over as she stared at an irrelevant part of the elephant grasses that were on most portions of the floors of this extremely wide compound. "What're you thinking of?" I asked, wiping my gown with a handkerchief.
"Hm?" She hummed involuntarily. I snapped my fingers and it made her flinch as she stared at me. "Oh. Henry broke up with me." She said. Her words came out like they weren't one of the world's most shocking news.
"WHAT?!" I screamed. "Why the hell did he break up with you? I thought you were the best couple ever." I furrowed my eyebrows as I held my waist.
"I— it's a long story but I might have— said some hurtful words to him, felt a kind of attraction towards someone else then blah blah blah, he broke up with me." She sighed and started walking, really fast.
I picked up my bag from the floor, slipped my handkerchief into it then ran to catch up with her. Getting to her side, I stopped running and exhaled. "Let's forget all about Henry, for now. We can order pizza. The pizza delivery guy might probably be extremely hotter than Henry then you'll fall in love with him. Adalyn should be home already." I grinned, hugging her from the side as we walked out of the compound.
"You're so mean." She groaned with a small smile. "My boyfriend just broke up with me and you're not sympathizing with me." She peeled my hand from around her.
I laughed exuberantly at the thought of always making a joke out of everything. "Let's just get home."

"Adalyn! Max! Kemi! Traven or whoever it is, we're home!' I screamed, calling the attention of my best friend.
"Kealey?" Adalyn Star or whoever it was came, running from the room. She hugged me. "I missed you."
"Adalyn, right?" I raised an eyebrow. I needed to confirm. Adalyn was my best friend and she had a mental condition, DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder.
Adalyn had 6 alters; Adalyn, Ella, Kemi, Traven, and Max. Great news, I loved them. They were all my best friends.
"I'll be right back, girls." Layla gave a weak smile before leaving for the room we all shared.
Adalyn and I watched as Layla left our sight. As soon as she was gone, Adalyn grasped my arms, squeezing them
"What's this for?" I winced.
"Did you talk to Kaiden yet or do anything to gain his attention or attraction?" She quirked an eyebrow, knowing my answer but still having to think positively that I might probably have talked to him.
I shook my head negatively which led to a harsh slap on my forehead and that made a frown grow on her face. "You're so silly." Her frown changed to a smirk. "Let's make a bet."
A bet with Adalyn meant a good sum of money but it also meant a big deal!
"You'll tell Kaiden your true feelings about him next time you see him. You must say all sweet words, ensure you go into every detail as to how and why you like–love him so crazily. Record it while you say it." She simpered, letting go of my arm that was probably red now.
"And?"
Judging from her evil facial expression, I could tell it was a huge sum of money. "And, I give you $700. If you don't tell him in One Week, you give me $500."
"Deal!" I took her hand and shook it. "That money isn't a small s**t. I'll do as you've said, oh dear Queen." I bowed to her and we both laughed before channelling to another topic.

"Hi, babe." I said into the phone, grinning like crazy. "Who's this, to be precise?" I just had to ask that for clarification.
"Uh... it's Max." Adalyn made her voice deeper to pretend to sound like Max then she laughed. "Just kidding, It's Adalyn."
"Great, would love to talk to you." I sighed, glad she was present today.
"You wanna say something? Do you need advice? Wait… we made a bet, right? Have you told Kaiden you're in 'love' with him? It's almost a week. If you've not, I need those dollars." She said, stressing the word 'love'.
"Keep calm. I'm about to tell him." I rolled my eyes.
"Wow! Great! Now do that and record every sound of it or you'll have to do it again." She stated, then ended the call before I could say anything else.
I stopped right in front of Kaiden's room. There was no way I could go in, was there? If only I could just catch a glimpse of his wonderful self, it was going to make my day. A glimpse? I could literally do anything to stare at him forever.
I turned on the Sound Recorder of my phone then slipped it into my front pocket.
His voice was probably going to be enough for now. No, the bet! I placed my palms on the door then rested my left ear against it. Eavesdropping!
He was in his room. Damn, I could hear his voice. A blush crept up my face at the sound of his voice. It wasn't audible enough though, due to the distance and hard door, but I could tell that he was on a phone call.
It seemed like I wasn't hearing enough of him so I was standing on my tiptoes to further push myself for a better hearing. Stupid? Yeah, I know.
As cliche as it may seem, I happened to have pushed the door a little bit too much then my toes slipped backwards, my elbow hit the door's handle, and it was trutched open, making me stumble inside Kaiden's room, falling face-flat to the floor with my knees being hit against the hard floor.
"Ouch!" I winced then shot my head upwards, only to catch the questioning look being shot at me.
If you had guessed right, it was very much embarrassing to be staring at Kaiden with my butt being shot upwards like a rocket that was just about to be launched.
"Who the hell are you?!" The way he hollered with his raspy voice made my heart leave me for a vacation to another world before it returned. Without warning, I jumped to my feet, rubbing my palms together to get rid of the dust from the floor.
"Uh…hi?" I waved sheepishly, grinning like a crazy dork— Nah, too harsh; like a child that was caught stealing a cookie from a jar.
"Bye, I'll call you later." He said into his phone then placed it on his bedside table. "May I know who you are?" From his bed, he rose to his feet. He was definitely above 6 feet tall. His black hair formed a muss above his hair and his bright blue eyes weren't having a friendly appearance as he approached me.
"Wait!" I shook my hands in front of me as well as my head. "Uh… I'm here to talk to you." I panted as I spoke.
"Talk to me?" He looked confused at first but it was quick enough in transforming to a frown. "Are you being serious here? How did you get in? Are you here to steal my money?"
"No." I scrunched my face in disgust. "I'm not a thief, I'm only here to confess something. Simple!" I rolled my eyes, jutting my hip out to rest my hand on it.
"Are you here for a business?" He raised an eyebrow. "Why am I even talking to you? I should be calling my Security. By the way, I'm open for a new woman if you're ready." He smirked, making me freeze at that instant.
Slowly, a blush found its way to crawl up my cheeks. It wasn't a compliment but I found it adorable. It mirrored great words coming out from the man I've loved since I was only 15. That's for 7 whole f*****g years!
"I'm ready if you're ready." I teased, swinging my shoulders flirtatiously. What the hell?! Did I just say that?
He seemed to be taken aback by my words. What did he expect of me? To be so scared and run away like an asshole? s**t, that ain't me. Anyways, I could save that for later.
"I actually like you, Kaiden." I blurted out with a straight poker face.
Kaiden's jaw dropped at my words.
"I'm not kidding." I advanced towards him, staring into his eyes. "I've loved you since like forever. We met 7 years ago when you came to my High School to give a donation. You pretended to be my rich boyfriend when I was being bullied by some crazy girls." I reminded him of that memorable day.
"Excuse me?" He crumpled the muscles of his forehead. "I don't think I remember—" he stopped, looking above me like he was lost in a dessert of his thoughts. He was remembering? Hell yeah, do remember!
His eyes returned to me then a broad smile appeared on his lips. "Oh, it was you?" He smiled. "You've grown so much now." His eyes scanned me from head to toe.
"My sister is Layla, your maid." If it wasn't now, when else was I going to let him know how I truly felt. You might probably be thinking of me as some shameless b***h but that isn't the case. I'm just an open-minded angel that doesn't care what people think.
"I've been coming here everyday but you never notice me so I thought of opening up to you. I've loved you since like forever. I can't stop thinking of you everyday and every time. I would go a million miles just to have you with me." I confessed.
His eyes were bugged out and his mouth was in agape. He looked terrifying to my progress in talking but the astonishment he was experiencing was very much normal.
"I've tried to gain your attention but you never seem to notice—" I didn't get to complete my sentence before he cut me off.
"Enough, please." He still looked very surprised to hear my confession. "You're young and very beautiful so— I don't know." He ran his fingers along his face. Kaiden wasn't seeming like the cold asshole he was painted as. To talk back nicely with a stranger that just entered your room, that's a very nice thing, I must say. "You're aren't the first woman to have a crush on me but no one ever confessed it." A crush? It was love, man. Not a crush.
"I'm getting married. I'm engaged." His words made my jaw fall this time. My eyes were instantly becoming teary. "Yes, I'm getting married Next Week." He smiled. It was an adorable expression but I was very pained. How could the man I've loved for Seven years just get married to someone that wasn't me?
