So many emotions warred inside me: fear, concern, anger, and mainly confusion. I didn't know what to do. Maddox had told me to stay in the vehicle no matter what and to drive away if something happened to him. But seeing Theodore holding a gun to his head and another man I didn’t recognize holding one to Jaxson's head, I couldn't bring myself to obey.
I mean, could I really let Jaxson and Maddox get shot because of me? The answer was no. So even though I was still conflicted about what to do, I knew I needed to do something. I wouldn't be able to live with myself otherwise.
