Not my damn heat cycle again.
Why couldn’t Hunter drop that subject? I would rather forget about that awful experience and hope to never experience anything like it again.
"You mentioned a guy named Jaxson. What happened to him?" Hunter asked, making me frown.
He sounded tense but more concerned than jealous. Why did he care so much about Jaxson?
"Ummm...well. After he called me his mate, the guy in charge, I think his name was Theodore, told the military-looking guys to apprehend us both." I said thoughtfully, trying to remember that day. Everything had happened so fast that my memory was spotty.
