{Ashlyn’s POV}
As I followed them out into a long corridor, I began to realize how little of this place I had seen. There were strange statues in the hallway I was in, and paintings of people I didn’t know. I only recognized the one at the very end of the hall, which was my father, Maxis. This must be a wall of Alpha’s, and adjacent to this wall was a wall covered in paintings of women, the one directly across from my father was the woman I was following just moments ago, his wife, my step mother. I could hear whispers coming from inside the room at the very end of the hall right by these paintings. The door was barely cracked open, and only a sliver of light was pouring out into the dark hallway.
