"No way! I'm not leaving you Liam." I knew she didn't have much time before he came back. I needed her to get the women to safety and get out of there. I also knew she was stubborn.
"He is here. He will kill them you need to go."She looked around the kitchen. She knew I was right. The pain was searing through me. He had stabbed me with a silver knife and the wound was not healing. "Cara," my voice was low as I was fighting to stay awake. "get them to the SUV and get them to safety."
"Liam you aren't healing I can get you all out of here just give me a second to think."
"No there is no time. He is here. He will kill them all. Just go.Please." I knew she wanted to fight me. I could feel her emotions inside of me. I reached my hand to her face my eyes pleading with her."You know I am right." Pain was coursing through me again as the silver in my system burned. She leaned down and kissed my lips as she grabbed the girls making her way out of the house. Closing my eyes finally succumbing to the pain and giving up. I was swallowed by darkness.
There was no more pain. I couldn't feel my wolf anywhere. I was trying to stay calm and not panic. I remembered being stabbed by a silver blade." I guess this is what happenes when you die." I was walking around aimlessly stumbling in the dark. "Hello?" I called out into the emptiness. No one answered back. I was alone in a void of darkness. I couldn't feel my wolf or Cara anymore. I should have told her I loved her. Off in the distance a small light glowed. I walked towards it slowly not sure what was in store for me there. It felt like I was walking forever when I finally made it to the edge of the darkness and walked through the dark into the light. My eyes slowly opened. My head was throbbing so jard I could feel it pulsing in my ear. I couldn't tell where I was. My vision was blury still as I tried adjusting to my surroundings things started coming into focus. Everthing was dingy and I was chained to a bed by silver. My wrsits were raw where the silver touched my bare skin. I couldn't hear my wolf. I could sense him there but I knew it was bad. We couldn't shift when bound by silver and there still was silver in my system. I could feel I was slowly healing but not as fast as a beat should. There was movement in the corner of the room but I couldn't see who it was. My brain was still foggy. Someone moved closer and I could sense them at the foot of the table I was sitting on. I knew we weren't in the same house as before. This was different. It felt cold and drafty and there was boxes all around. Maybe a warehouse somewhere. No one would know where I was. I only hoped Cara had gotten the girls out of there before I was taken to a new location. I could still feel her so I knew she was alive but I had no clue if she made it out. A deep voice sounded out by my side. I turned slightly to see who it was and my mouth fell open. This was overwhleming. "What are you doing here? Why would you do this?" I couldn't believe what I was seeing in front of me. I never would have thought he as capable of this.
"you have to do things sometimes to start a revolution. The humans are a disease and they kill us. It needed to be stopped. I am just helping push this war along. I admit Callahan was a bad choice. I don't agree with some of his...methods. In the ned he got what he deserved. His death will be greatly celebrated. No one would miss someone like him and with all the deaths of the women pinned on him for now my plan is going to be set in place before anyone is aware." His face was cold as he stared back at me leaning in closer as he spoke. His breath was on my face and I wanted nothing more than to break free and kill him. "you and that hunter stumbled on this before I wanted you too. It almost stopped what needs to happen. She may have found the girls and gotten away but now I can use you to take the blame while I look like the one who escaped. The Gamma becomes the Beta and the Alpha will be none the wiser."
"Benson other than power what do you gain from this?" the smirk on his face was of pure evil. It was clear he didn't care about what he had done or what he was doing.
"the power is just an added bonus Liam. I want absolute freedom from the humans. I wnt to be able to go live where I want and not have to hide who I am. This war will make that happen. The humans won't win against shifters. They are weak."
He had gone insane. his voice was laced with hate. "Why would you kill she wolves along with humans? and who else is doing this with you?"
"oh it's gained a lot of support. I don't even have to do much anymore. It spread amongst packs pretty fast. You would be surprised how many shifters want freedom. I have quite the following." He stood up from my side and I looked at him still chained to the bed.
"what about your mate? Your family?" I took in a deep breath. I trusted this man more than anyone else in the pack. He was like a brother to me. HIs mate was family. I just couldn't wrap my head around any of this. It didn't matter if I wanted to believe it or not because he was here in my face and telling me.
He snickered a little at my questions."She knows this is for the best. Some innocent lives have to be sacrificed for the greater good. Soon every shifter will be free because of me."
The silver chains were burning my skin. It fet like it was searing into my body stopping me from breathing."You would sacrifice your family. It's sick. what about the alpha? IS he inon this with you because of his child>"
"The alpha will be in the ned or he too willl die. I thought when his child was murdered he would turn, but no! that stupid alpha went to drinking instead. He doesn't even know it wasn't really a human who killed his pup. It was me."
He stood there a smile on his face. I was sure my face was showing the shock. He killed the Alphas child and blamed it on the dead human girl found near the body. Benson had said that the human killed the child and Benson then killed her. My voice was shaky as I cleared my throat."Why would you kill the Alphas child?"
He stood up and wlked towards the door his voice trailing as he walked away."I was killing her for wandering on our territory and the alphas child saw me. I killed both of them and blamed humans. It was my first time doing it and it felt so exhilerating. I wish you could have felt it. It gave me a sense of power." Then he was gone. His words left in my mind swirling around my head. I knew I needed to get out of these chains. I needed to warn everyone and stop Benson and all his followers.
