CHAPTER FOURTEEN
Stella opened the interview room door. Now that she was going to be face to face with Trevor, she felt extremely nervous about her idea. They were up against a very experienced liar who had a lucrative income stream to defend. Her bluff might not work at all, but she had to try.
“You two go in,” Roth muttered. “I’ll watch from the observation room.”
Stella stepped inside, followed by Maxwell.
Trevor was leaning casually back on the plastic chair, with his hands loosely linked in front of him. He did look worryingly at ease, Stella thought. The psychological advantage she’d had just after discovering him with Barbs was now firmly in the past. He was regarding her with a half-smile.
“Mr. Urban. We have some more questions,” Stella said.
