Quietly, they walked out, bypassing the gym where Stella saw with a lurch of her stomach that Isabella’s body was now being removed. She didn’t want to see it again and was thankful when they headed directly across the lawn instead.
“Do you think Larry could have organized it, as a hit? Could Isabel have had an affair, or wanted a divorce?” she murmured to Roth as they headed out.
“We can’t rule out that possibility,” Roth agreed. “I was also doubtful about how happy that marriage really was.”
