“I will take her home.”
Xavier stepped ahead and joined the two friends, who stood bewildered listening to his offer.
He looked down at his wrist watch and noticed the time.
“I am almost off my shift. I am heading home, so I will drop you home.” He stated with more clarity on why he was offering Camila a ride and then continued to look at Selena.
“You do not have to compromise on your work shift. As a college student, I know how hard it is already to manage your studies and work, so just go ahead and go to your work, I will take Miss Santiago home.”
Camila scoffed, turning her face away that was reddened with embarrassment.
For a moment, she assumed that he actually cared for her but instead even in that moment, he was being a considerate professor.
“Are you okay with…?”
