CHAPTER 22 “Pass me more cornbread, would you, my dear?” Carl said. Sandy spun the Lazy Susan. “You know, hon, all those carbs aren’t the best for your blood sugar levels. Can I get you more salad instead?” Carl scowled. “The day I want a second helping of salad is the day I’ll trade my Charles Spurgeon collection for one of those mega-church prosperity preachers’.” He turned to Kennedy. “Could you do me the kindness of passing the cornbread, please?” From his side of the table, Woong took a noisy gulp of milk. “Smaller sips, son,” Sandy chided. “It’s rude to drink that loudly when we have company over.” “Aww,” Woong whined. “It’s just Kennedy.
