"What did Marcus do to you?" Quinton suddenly asked as he looked at me in question.
I glanced away and squirmed in my seat. I wasn't ready to get all buddy buddy with the two of them just yet.
"I'd rather not tell," I decided to go with as I walked over to the glass windows and stared out to the busy city.
Various cars drove passed as I looked down on them. Alexander's office had a beautiful view and I felt a pang of jealousy.
"Oh c'mon! Aren't we going to take him down together? Tell us," Quinton persisted and I kept my back to them.
"Quinton," Alexander said with firmness to his voice, successfully silencing Quinton.
"Forget I asked," Quinton said in a soft tone and I turned around in time to see his small smile as I gave him a short nod.
There was a silence between us for a few moments. We all glanced at each other waiting for the other to speak.
"It happened in college," Quinton suddenly inquired and I looked at him in confusion as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"What happened?" I asked as I leaned on the glass window.
"Marcus happened," Alexander gritted as he ran a hand through his dark hair, leaning back.
"We shared a dorm. We were actually friends," Quinton continued and I raised an eyebrow at him.
"He started a fire in the dorm. It spread," he said with a small pause.
"Four people got severely burnt and like always he blamed it on someone else. Me to be exact," he pointed to his chest.
Quinton stopped talking and sighed as he rubbed his temples.
"Basically things from there got a little messy," he stated and shrugged his shoulders. He made it seem like it was nothing but I could see the anger burning in his eyes.
"Though what he did to Alexander is far worse."
Alexanders head shot to Quinton's and he gave him a deadly look, his jaw clenching. Quinton apologized under his breath and averted his gaze to mine.
I glanced over at Alexander and I looked at him in curiosity.
"What did he do to you?" I couldn't help but ask as I tilted my head.
"What did he do to you?" Alexander mimicked and I rolled my eyes.
"You're not the only one who isn't ready to explain," Alexander smirked as he leaned forward and rested his elbows on his desk.
"I'll just have to wait then," I shrugged my shoulders and gave Alexander a grin.
His dark eyes bore into mine and my breath got caught in my throat. He had an effect on me even when he was several meters away from me.
"Don't you worry. You won't have to wait for long," Alexander bellowed his smirk still intact.
I raised an eyebrow at him. I was certain we were talking about another topic.
"Flirt another time will you? I'm heading out," Quinton chimed in as he slapped his hands onto his knees and stood up.
"Boss," Quinton stated as he gave Alexander a nod.
"Victoria," he then continued as he walked over to me and placed a sweet kiss onto my cheek.
He then made his way to the door and left. Now it was just Alexander and I.
"You should go home and rest. You have to confront Marcus at work tomorrow, you're going to need all the energy you can get," Alexander said with an amused grin.
"You're right," I said with a nod as I gracefully made my way to the door, Alexanders eyes following me.
"I'll keep you updated."
With one last grin, I opened the door and made my way out. I sighed in bliss at the thought of my comfortable bed waiting for me at home.
Once I was out of the building and near my car, something caught my attention from the corner of my eye.
Hiding behind my vehicle I watched a man pressing his body against a woman on the car beside me.
I bent down and watched through the window as I immediately noticed the woman he was holding.
Catelyn.
"Why can't we be together?" the man whispered.
"You know why," Catelyn answered as she kissed the man's neck making him groan.
"You work for Celeste and I for Williams," she continued with a sad smile as she caressed his cheek.
My hands automatically shot down to my purse and I pulled out my phone.
I focused the camera and took three quick shots of Catelyn caressing and kissing the man.
"So? We both have the money, we can run away!" the man said in a harsh whisper, his bright blue eyes looking at her in desperation.
"Do you know who my fiancé is? Max will kill the both of us. I have to go," Catelyn sighed and pulled away.
"Catelyn, wait!"
Catelyn ignored the man's pleas and her dark hair flew up in the wind as she hurried away. The scene looked like a tragic love story.
I pulled open my door and slid into the driver's seat as my hands clutched onto the steering wheel, a wide grin on my face.
"Catelyn, Catelyn, Catelyn," I cooed as I watched her through my review mirror with a sadistic smile.
"You shouldn't have just done that."
I looked down at my phone screen and my smile widened at the photos.
This was going to be fun.
******************************************
It was morning once again and I sighed at how quick time flies by. I was currently in Williams Industries and was making my way to Marcus' office as he requested I meet the co-owners of the company.
Today I wore tight, black leather leggings and a white tucked in blouse. I had on a pair of nude coloured heels that smacked onto the marble floor like always.
I had just walked out of the elevator and started making my way to Marcus' office. When I appeared in front of the grand door I heard a few voices on the inside.
I placed the side of my head near the door and cupped my ear.
"....really like this one."
"-And she's rich too....we could-"
I leaned back and huffed in annoyance. The barrier between us didn't allow the voices to be heard clearly much to my dismay.
I quickly straightened up and put on a lazy grin and pushed out my chest.
I raised my hand and knocked onto the door twice, the noise echoing through the quiet hallways.
The door was immediately swung open and I was greeted by Marcus who gave me a smirk as his eyes scanned my body.
"Victoria, come in," he whispered as he leaned down near my ear and brushed his lips against it.
I smiled at him and walked into the pearly white office. I straight away noticed the two figures standing in the room.
Catelyn was propped up onto Marcus' glass desk with her legs crossed. She twirled a strand of dark hair around her finger and Max stood near her, placing butterfly kisses onto her neck.
Marcus closed the door and moved to stand in front of me. I felt myself grow nervous as I faced all three of them once again.
"I'd like you to meet the co-owners of Williams Industries," Marcus inquired as his hand rested onto the small of my back.
Max moved away from Catelyn and walked over to me as he grabbed my hand and lightly brushed his lips over my knuckles.
"I believe we have already met," he said with a small smile.
"I believe we have Maxwell," I replied with a bat of my eyelashes.
"I'm Catelyn."
I glanced over at Catelyn who had made her way over to me. Her eyes scanned my face and she tilted her head to the side.
When she offered me her hand, I politely shook it and gave her a smile which she didn't return.
"Victoria Strikings," I replied with a small smirk as I glanced over at Max giving him a flirty smile just to make Catelyn mad.
That's when I remembered her secret lover from Celeste Industries.
"Victoria I hope you are comfortable with your fitted job?" Marcus asked as he sat behind his desk with his hands crossed, resting on the table.
"Of course, I couldn't be more grateful. It truly is wonderful."
Wonderful indeed.
"I'm glad," Marcus smirked as his eyes trailed down and I tried my best not to turn around and puke onto his expensive carpet.
Marcus opened his mouth to speak but the phone next to him started ringing loudly. With an audible sigh he lifted it up to his ear.
"Yes?" he said rudely.
Max, Catelyn and I stood there in silence as we waited for Marcus to hang up. After several head nods and 'mhms' he finally put the phone down.
"Max we have some business to do. Go with Catelyn and fetch me the Prescott documents."
Immediately Max was on his feet and had Catelyn by his side. He flashed me a smile before he was out of the room.
I nearly jumped out of my skin as I felt hot breath fanning my neck.
"Ah, Victoria. I've missed you," Marcus voice whispered from behind.
I felt his hand rest on my waist and slowly travel up and down.
"As have I," I lied through my teeth as I turned around to face him.
Marcus grabbed my hips and slammed my body into his as he trailed kisses onto my jaw.
I suddenly felt sick and my eyes averted around the area as I prayed for a distraction.
It was like God had accepted my prayers once again. Just then the loud shrill of my phone rang out making me inwardly sigh in relief.
"I better get that," I whispered in his ear, in what I hoped was a husky voice.
Marcus licked his lips and moved back.
"Hello?" I said into the receiver with an unsure tone. In my rush I hadn't checked who the caller was.
"Victoria? I need you to-" the familiar voice of Alexander made my body relax and his voice soothed my mind.
"Ah, Paul. Yes I will drop by the bank today," I suddenly said in a cheerful voice.
Alexander paused on the other side of the line, probably confused as I chewed on my lip.
"Is Marcus near you?" he asked and my eyes glanced at Marcus who was watching me closely.
I walked up to him and trailed my fingers down his chest to distract him.
"Mhm," I replied into the receiver and I heard Alexander sigh.
"Give the bastard a kick in the balls for me. I'll call you later."
I almost bursted out laughing and quickly stifled it with a cough as Marcus raised his eyebrow at me.
I threw my phone into my purse and looked up at Marcus with sad eyes.
"I have to go take care of something's. May I swing by later?" I asked in a suggestive tone and Marcus' hungry eyes found mine.
"Make it quick."
Without looking back, I hurried to the door and walked out, closing it behind me.
I had only made it a few steps before I was greeted by Catelyn who stepped out in front of me.
"Hello Catelyn I-"
"I know who you are," she hissed and my eyes narrowed.
"Samantha."
